List of films by letter[edit]

Thanks for adding films to the list of films by letter. However, when adding films, please ignore adding films with a "The" article at the end of the title. The rest of the titles in all of the lists are all listed by the second capitalized word in the title of the film. You can just go ahead and add it as the title is written. You can see more guidelines for adding films on the lists' talk pages. But thanks again for adding films, we need all the help we can get to update them. --Nehrams2020 22:32, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Emmerdale Changes[edit]

I have noticed you have taken an interest in improving Emmerdale's articles. It's great to see others who are showing a keen interest to get Emmerdale up to the same sort of standard as Eastenders, for example. Could I ask that when you tag article talk pages for ratings, you also amend the Assessment Scale of such articles accordingly. If anything, to keep an accurate track of which articles are more needy for improvement and expansion to help others contribute. Again great work and hopefully we are on track to getting Emmerdale up to the right standard! Bungle44 15:00, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I hadn't noticed that there was an Assessment Scale for Emmerdale articles, I have been tagging pages but have also created the pages for the categories so for example we now have pages such as Category:Stub-Class Emmerdale articles which allow us to see all of the stub class entries for example. Do you think it is much easier to see the position if we have a separate assessment scale page? I will contine to tag articles for now, and can then always use these category pages to update the assessment scale in one big update once I am finished. The only issue I see with this is keeping it up to date when people who are not working with the project change the assessment whereas the category pages will automatically update themselves. --Amxitsa 15:28, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Most Wikiprojects I have seen operate a similar sort of system, whereby contributers can add to a list tagged articles, with brief summaries of what may need to be done in order to keep the project's articles to a good standard (for example, the Video Games Wikiproject use an assessment page which can be found here, as well as categories for keeping track of articles within the wikiproject scope). I understand what you are saying about one big update, and maybe that will be the best idea, but dependant upon how long it'll be until every article has it's own tagged rating. One thing about the Assessment scale is the ability to have all article ratings consolidated into a single location, as opposed to being scattered across multiple categories; although of course as you mentioned, that does rely upon regular updates. Thanks from me too for helping out in the lists. I got curious about the wiki specific link you have in your page. Is it part of Wikipedia? Are there more such specific websites? Hoverfish Talk 19:20, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the link to the list. That's what I was looking for. Very interesting! Hoverfish Talk 21:36, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Great work with the list, really a broader coverage on French films is much needed. Happy editing, STTW (talk) 15:25, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I realize it's an older edit, but you don't need to made cast lists into tables. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Style guidelines calls for a simple list as you had it the first time. Thanks for the hard work! SkierRMH 01:55, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it would be better we all agree about this and we use the simple *[[Actor]] as "Role" listing. As for your work, it's amazing! Hoverfish Talk 19:49, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I had been experimenting with the tables since looking at pages like Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (film) but most of the films do already seem set up as a simple list. Most of the films I am working on at the minute don't have cast lists but I will put them as ordinary lists when they do to try and keep some consistency between pages --Amxitsa 09:26, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There's been a bit of a discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Films/Style guidelines, doesn't seem to be much opposition about putting the 'no tables' into the section on cast, but I've been waiting a bit before actually making the change. There's additional rationale about the reasons not to do this that I hadn't thought of! SkierRMH 16:04, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Great Wall.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Great Wall.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:09, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Alien_Contamination.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Alien_Contamination.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:53, 10 February 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 09:53, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:Carmencita.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:Carmencita.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Carmencita.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. BJTalk 11:22, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:SortiedesOuvriersdel1895-01.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:SortiedesOuvriersdel1895-01.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:SortiedesOuvriersdel1895-01.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 00:18, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Dolphins (2007 film)[edit]

The article Dolphins (2007 film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The main issue of this film is it only meet half of the WP:MOVIE criteria stating "the film is widely distributed" regardless that it appear to go released unnoticed but the reception part is not at all a review, it is an news edit of a press release describing the film.

All other else, it fails all other criteria for "other evidence of notability", also for reliable third party source, they do exist (via its own website) but these are more like news edits of press releases for local papers.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
