Note: Please check the above template for what time it is in my location before sending a message as I may be asleep.
Note 2: When it is April fool's day, DO NOT TROUT ME as an April Fool's joke. In the past I had a trout button which I removed due to persistent abuse of it. If you trout me on April Fool's Day I will revert you and ask that you do not do it again.
Note 3: Any comments here regarding a vandal or from a blocked user that I was WP:AGF will be archived once i ensure there is nothing left to say per WP:DENY.
Note 4: If I remove your comment and you add it back, I will revert you and warn you for doing so. If you do it again after that then I will report you for harassment. This crap has gone on for way too long and I've become less and less tolerant of it. Removing comments from my own talk page is perfectly allowable per WP:OWNTALK.
Considering retirement[edit]
This section is pinned and will not be automatically archived. |
Hello all. I'm sure some of you will have noticed that I have placed {{considering retirement}} on my talk page. I have my reasons for this, tho it is nothing that necessarily involves me. Technically it involves everyone editing or viewing Wikipedia. Due to some circumstances regarding the higher-higher-ups (as in beyond admins) I'm not sure if I want to remain an editor on Wikipedia. If I have known you on Wikipedia for a while and you really wish to know more details then let me know here and I will send you an email with the details. I do not wish the details to be shared publicly here on Wikipedia or on the Wikipedia Discord server, or anywhere else involving Wikipedia and the WMF (excluding other Wiki's running on the mediawiki software that are otherwise not associated with the WMF). As the template says, nothing is set in stone at the moment, though it is something I am considering. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:15, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
Update January 6, 2023: Retirement is still something I am considering, however it's more just a thought in the back of my mind that comes up every once in a while. There's not really a template for that so the considering retirement template will stay unless a more appropriate one can be found, as will this section. My thoughts have not changed much, however it's no longer something that's at the forefront of my mind. Maybe I simply just needed a vacation, away from Wikipedia (and most of the internet in general, tho I was still using the internet for things like YouTube and online features in games) which resulted in this update. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:44, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
- That seems a shame. As long as you have been enjoying editing here and as log as you have been abiding by the rules I see no reason for you to allow other people to control your behaviour. Since I have not seen any divergence from the rules it must be that you are not quite enjoying yourself. By all means take a wiki break. I took one for several years. It was meant to be for a few months but I had burned out and lost the fun. For me, the fun is back. I hope it returns for you, too.
- I feel a sense of loss, since we have just met, but your staying because I ask would be your allowing me to control you. So stay, for as long as you want, and return when you want if you leave. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 17:39, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- I would love for other people to not control my behavior, however I don't really have a choice. If you'd like I will email you more details as said are not something I want public here on Wikipedia. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:41, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- If you wish to send it I will read it. It is very rare that I respond by email. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 17:56, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- I understand the points you make in your email. I know others have felt those things before. What they have found is that it generally all comes good in the end.
- Out of deference to you and in accordance with the rules, I may not reveal, even by my answers, any of the actual points in your email 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 18:19, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you. I may choose to reveal them in the future. But for now they remain private via email. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:20, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- If I have any advice for you, it is to choose to ignore the things you emailed me about, simply because nor you nor I can affect them. If building the encyclopaedia is enough fun then the rest of whatever it is you sent me can safely be ignored. This is why I concentrate on building the encyclopaedia by reviewing by writing, be improving, by offering article for deletion, etc etc. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 23:40, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- That's not something that's easy to do considering how much it can affect me. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 23:43, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- I hope you can stay Blaze Wolf. You were the one of the first editors I interacted with at the Teahouse, and you gave me a lift when I was a struggling newbie who didn't even know how to upload an image. If you would like to talk about something, feel free to email or DM me on Discord ‡ The Night Watch ω (talk) 01:12, 3 November 2022 (UTC)

Hi Blaze Wolf! I saw the considering retirement above, and though I would understand, I hope you get to a place where you can choose to stay. You're a valuable editor on this project and you've been a big help to me, as well as others! Like I said, I would totally understand, but I sincerely hope to see you stay. - I know that retirement may seem like a bad thing, Blaze Wolf, but it may mean a chance to look back at history. Speaking of, the Reverie Battles (that were archived in the Legends: Arceus wiki) were part of the Daybreak update, so I had to include them. - (12546a) 11:13, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
Semi?[edit]
Hi, Blaze. The IP range that's harassing you is unfortunately too big to block. Would you like semiprotection for a few days? Bishonen | tålk 20:03, 2 February 2023 (UTC).
- This guy again? @Bishonen: I'm honestly not sure. My talk page was recently protected for a week a few days ago because of this harassment (they unsuccessfully tried to request unprotection) so I guess if they come back again then ya protect it for a few days. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:06, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
- They tried to request unprotection? That's some chutzpah. OK, I'll leave it, since you say so, but I may well have gone to bed by the time they return. (Awkward timezone.) Bishonen | tålk 20:19, 2 February 2023 (UTC).
- @Bishonen: Yep they did. See this. Also if they return and you're asleep then I can probably just ask another admin to do it (or just request it at RFPP) ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:24, 2 February 2023 (UTC)

Verizon history request[edit]
Hi Blaze Wolf, I have an unanswered request that I have posted on the Talk page of the Verizon Communications article about the subsection Merger of equals (2000–2002). Since you reviewed a request in the past, I thought it may be of interest to you.
As I work for Verizon and have a conflict of interest, I ask others to look at my requests and make edits on my behalf. I can answer any questions about these requests on the Verizon Communications Talk page. Thank you, VZEric (talk) 22:00, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
Question from KingAviationKid (17:39, 3 February 2023)[edit]
I added a new article V125-class torpedo boat Forgot to tell you a few months ago about French ship Bougainville (L9077) --KingAviationKid (talk) 17:39, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- @KingAviationKid: Hey there! Great to hear that you're still around creating new articles. I just created a new one myself (The Crew Motorfest) and am attempting to get a DYK on it, though I've had a little trouble with the wording. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:40, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- I've been around just playing games tho. KingAviationKid (talk) 18:22, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

Revert[edit]
Why are you reverting me? I reverted 196.206.51.161's unsourced changes.196.119.161.170 (talk) 20:19, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
Talk:7[edit]
Thank you for the message, but as you were posting a comment on "my" talk page, I was writing an explanation that I've found an answer for my question in the article's introduction section, with striking out my earlier input. 83.11.222.99 (talk) 22:33, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- You don't own your talk page. No one does. WP:OWN. Also, keep in mind that talk pages are not to be used for comments not related to improving the article. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 22:40, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

Recent changes
- In the Vector 2022 skin, logged-out users using the full-width toggle will be able to see the setting of their choice even after refreshing pages or opening new ones. This only applies to wikis where Vector 2022 is the default. [1]
Changes later this week
The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 7 February. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 8 February. It will be on all wikis from 9 February (calendar).
- Previously, we announced when some wikis would be in read-only for a few minutes because of a switch of their main database. These switches will not be announced any more, as the read-only time has become non-significant. Switches will continue to happen at 7AM UTC on Tuesdays and Thursdays. [2]
- Across all the wikis, in the Vector 2022 skin, logged-in users will see the page-related links such as "What links here" in a new side menu. It will be displayed on the other side of the screen. This change had previously been made on Czech, English, and Vietnamese Wikipedias. [3]
- Community Wishlist Survey 2023 will stop receiving new proposals on Monday, 6 February 2023, at 18:00 UTC. Proposers should complete any edits by then, to give time for translations and review. Voting will begin on Friday, 10 February.
Future changes
Gadgets and user scripts will be changing to load on desktop and mobile sites. Previously they would only load on the desktop site. It is recommended that wiki administrators audit the gadget definitions prior to this change, and add
skins=…
for any gadgets which should not load on mobile. More details are available.
