Update to "Environmental impact of wind power"[edit]

Hello Chidgk1, I noticed your update request from November 2022 about the use of permanent magnets and neodymium in wind turbine manufacturing. Just to let you know, they're still very much in use. I found this information in an article from the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy at the University of Pennsylvania, dated May 2021. Let me know if the update needs more expanding. @HerBauhaus Thank you very much Chidgk1 (talk) 09:26, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Merging[edit]

Please stop opening additional AfDs for the article -- it's already been closed with consensus to merge, so nominating it at AfD repeatedly is not going to make it get merged faster. If you want to incorporate the material into the target page yourself, feel free to do so and then redirect it; you don't need another AfD for that. jp×g🗯️ 22:03, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

OK thanks I have redirected to a section containing more up to date percentage info and I think it is now more suitable for readers Chidgk1 (talk) 08:43, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Don’t worry about perfect English - make the edit and as long as it is properly sourced and understandable someone else will copyedit Chidgk1 (talk) 15:00, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also suggest you create the article in your language Chidgk1 (talk) 15:02, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Turkey to GA and then to FA[edit]

Hi Chidgk1! I know I sometimes disagree with your suggestions in the talk page, but I do not want to discourage you. Given your interest in this article and that you are a very experienced editor, would you be interested in improving this article? We can take it slowly, perhaps over several months lol. After the lead, I was thinking of going from top to bottom, starting with Name and History sections. Btw, it's a Level 3 article, same level with Climate change. Bogazicili (talk) 22:00, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the compliment but no sorry definitely not as I cannot face such a struggle. However I hope to continue to bring some lower level Turkey articles to good standard so anyone working on the Turkey article may be able to pick out their most important points. My next target is Forest in Turkey. Chidgk1 (talk) 06:39, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Are you sure? There's a $100 cash prize lol, you can have it all. Bogazicili (talk) 18:37, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely sure. Can’t think of a joke at the moment. So from your userid you either live near the Bosporus or are missing it? I don’t live in Istanbul but very occasionally visit and enjoy the ferryboats Chidgk1 (talk) 06:38, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I was just joking, didn't really think $100 would entice you. I'm not rich enough to live near the Bosporus, but Bogazici is also a university :) Bogazicili (talk) 17:26, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I had forgotten to give you a barnstar when I asked for your help with the article btw. I had noticed your contributions to Turkey-related articles such as Climate change in Turkey :) Bogazicili (talk) 16:26, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Did you know nominations/Çöpler mine disaster[edit]

Thank you very much for your help. I've expanded and updated the artcile according to your request. I guess I did not forget something necessary. Would you please have a look at that. Cheers. CeeGee 11:24, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Have done some copyediting but not being a lawyer sorry I am not competent to check the translation of the statement by the Turkish Bars Association Chidgk1 (talk) 18:27, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

Am I allowed to make a subsection of common names on the page of panther pardus tuliana? Firekong1 (talk) 16:34, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am not an expert on Wikipedia rules but I have no objection as long as the names are actually common and you use reliable sources Chidgk1 (talk) 16:58, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So as it has been stated previously, there are sources for the common names on the articles, but the only problem is that I do not want to get into an edit war, because it is not my intention to do so. I simply want to improve the page how I see fit. What do you suggest I do? I shall not edit it right now, I'll wait until you and/or a few other wikipedian authorities let me know when its safe. Firekong1 (talk) 13:46, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your question led me to investigate off topic a bit and I was surprised to find our article is not linked to the one on Farsi Wikipedia. So I attempted to merge Wikidata item Q729713 with Q754336 but was unsucessful. If you are skilled with Wikidata perhaps you would like to try. Chidgk1 (talk) 19:01, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
By the way I am not an authority as I very rarely edit biology articles Chidgk1 (talk) 19:04, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Alright then. Just to ensure that I do not seem as if I am starting an edit quarrel, am I allowed to add the section once I create a proper list of common names not used on the page header? Firekong1 (talk) 19:22, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am not an admin - I don’t decide what you are allowed to do - I may whinge about Oxford commas etc but I am not very interested in Wikipedia rules so I have only a couple of times made any formal complaint - it would have to be something serious - for example paid editors who claim they are not Chidgk1 (talk) 19:53, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Of course. Thank you for letting me know anyway, I thought I’d ask you since you are a trusted veteran editor on Wikipedia. Firekong1 (talk) 13:06, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
