Valence electron

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Valence electron, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Asteroid stubs

Many of the articles that mention where the asteroids are discovered lead to dab pages. Here are some examples.

I also came to this page to ask why a bot is creating basically useless pages on asteroids and I found there were problems with it, described above. I noticed it while patrolling Special:Newpages and saw your bot was spamming the newpages and making it harder to patrol. Why are you doing this? --User:Iambus | talk 04:32, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

You can hide bot edits at Special:Newpages. As for why the bot is doing this, a few people have asked for this and it has gotten approval from the BAG. -- Cobi^(t|c|b) 02:13, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

I don't have any problems with the articles but since the bot is creating so many stubs it would be nice for them to be pre disambiguated. There are roughly 1,000 links to Palomar now and not the observatory. If you do begin to run the bot again please make sure the pages don't link to disambiguation pages. Also very few of the articles have gibberish like 7974 Vermeesch. -Eóin (talk) 02:29, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

I just got a message from you saying I made an unhelpful edit on that page.

Not to my knowledge I didn't... perhaps someone's been using my computer without permission, I'm not sure. Either way I apologise for any inconvenience, I don't even know what the edit was.
