Recent edit to Omar Rodríguez-López[edit]

Hello. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person (Omar Rodríguez-López), but that you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Materialscientist (talk) 09:48, 12 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

July 2016[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Template:John Frusciante, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Laser brain (talk) 16:20, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:UmbrellaMistress.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:UmbrellaMistress.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Non-free rationale for File:UmbrellaMistress.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:UmbrellaMistress.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. AntiCompositeNumber (Leave a message) 02:13, 28 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for September 10[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Infinity Drips, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Psychedelic. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

Hello, Sidewalkfins87. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Crystal Fairy (album)[edit]

Hello Sidewalkfins87,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Crystal Fairy (album) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is significant enough to be included in an encyclopedia, and the artist doesn't have an article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. TheLongTone (talk) 16:01, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:CellPhoneBikini.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:CellPhoneBikini.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:27, 19 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Chocolate Tumor Hormone Parade requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. The article Roman Lips has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NALBUM

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Omar Rodríguez-López[edit]

If you're not currently aware of it, please read WP:NALBUMS. The articles for Rodríguez-López albums you have created do pass notability requirements for stand-alone articles. Doom Patrol (album) has been redirected again. Please do not restore it without demonstrating that there is sufficient third-party independent coverage of the album in news sources that show its notability, which is what is needed to justify keeping it. If you disagree, then it will be nominated for deletion. Also, you should not revert non-vandalism edits without an edit summary. Thank you. Ss112 01:35, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

What do you keep posting on my talk page for? If you wanted to reply sensibly, you could have done so here. "How is what [I'm] doing constructive"? Your articles failed WP:NALBUMS. I already answered that question. Please read the page I have provided a link to. Also, I don't know why you keep quoting me back to myself. I'm aware of my edit summaries. Ipecac Recordings spew otherwise irrelevant Omar Rodríguez-López albums out at a ridiculous rate that no music critic would care to cover them all. I don't see what the problem is. They still fail notability requirements and you haven't acknowledged that. Ss112 23:25, 12 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You don't see what the problem is?? I, along with plenty of others, have spent hours upon hours building the complete, consistent discography of one of the world's most prolific recording artists, and an entitled twat such as yourself feels the need to come along and entirely undo a wealth of knowledge? And you're just completely clueless as to why I may be displeased.
Please read WP:PERSONAL and don't attack other editors. There is no reason for it. Keep calm. I don't believe I'm acting "entitled" to redirect your articles, which is a common practice when they fail notability requirements. He may be prolific, but that doesn't necessarily make his albums notable (as an artist may be notable, but this does not automatically grant their recordings the same status). No disrespect, but personally I wouldn't call the articles I redirected a "wealth of knowledge", because as I pointed out, they all provided no sources beyond two primary ones, and the few sentences that were there were not supported by inline citations and therefore not verifiable. Ss112 19:47, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Only warning - no personal attacks[edit]

Comments like this are entirely inappropriate and not allowed on Wikiededia. I see you've made a few now. Any more, and you'll be blocked from editing. If you have problems with an editor, you need to constructively discuss the issue, not just resort to petty name-calling and vague complaints. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 20:02, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not a warning, but a word of advice - I've noticed you've just recreated a number of articles without any third party sources. You may not like what Ss112 has to say, but as far as Wikipedia policy goes, he is correct - as of right now, those articles aren't complying to our bare minimum standards. If you don't improve them any further, they are likely to be deleted again if they are observed by experienced editors who understand the policies and guidelines. Ways to improve Diamanté (EP)[edit]

Hi, I'm Mduvekot. Sidewalkfins87, thanks for creating Diamanté (EP)!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please see the merge proposal on the talk page.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Disambiguation link notification for November 24[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ?? (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. Orphaned non-free image File:SSBSPTB.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:SSBSPTB.jpg.

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:51, 19 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:LookDownSeeUs.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:LookDownSeeUs.jpg.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — JJMC89(T·C) 06:44, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
