It is not one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, but rather intends to describe some aspect(s) of Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Organizing disambiguation pages by subject area. It may reflect varying levels of consensus and vetting.

Long disambiguation pages are best organized by subject.

To quickly get readers where they want, in addition to writing good entries:

DO:
Use clearly defined subject headings
Imitate similar pages
Use subsections as needed
Usually keep (sub)sections to 3-12 entries
Put unsorted entries below

DON'T:
Don't combine unrelated subject headings
Don't use headings that overlap, if possible
Don't use bold or semicolons for headings
Don't leave unsorted entries floating^[a]
Don't list fictional and real items together
