I think you should add to new tools[edit]

I think we should add in new tools so we could use the new tools to stop vandalism on Wikipedia because the most people get their knowledge from Wikipedia Johnny ser vid (talk) 10:08, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

New patrolling tool project[edit]

Hi,

I'm Jules* from Wikipedia in French. We plan to develop a new version of LiveRC, a patrolling tool commonly used on fr-wp to fight vandalism, but it is getting old, outdated, and needs several improvements. The project page is translated in English. The tool is needed for fr-wp, but we want to make it available (and configurable) for other wikis.

The fr-wp patrolling community has built a list of specifications for this new tool with our needs. We translated the “specifications” in English and it's available there.

Your feedback would be appreciated regarding the “specifications” we wrote, in order to take into account the needs of your community and build, as much as possible, a tool that suits other communities needs. You can post your feedbacks (preferably in English) on the fr-wp talkpage dedicated to it.

If you reply to this message here, please ping me so I don't miss it. Warm regards, — Jules* talk 11:54, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

New anti-vandalism tool starting development at the Wikimedia Foundation[edit]

Hi - I’m the Product Manager for the Moderator Tools team at the Wikimedia Foundation (and long-time editor and admin here). I wanted to let you know that now that we're wrapping up our work on PageTriage, my team is in the early stages of designing and building Automoderator - an automated anti-vandalism revert tool like ClueBot NG. Although most of the details and discussion can be found on MediaWiki, we’ve created a project page here to discuss how this tool might be evaluated or used on the English Wikipedia. We think you have unique insight into how we should build the tool given your experiences with ClueBot NG. Please take a look at our project page and share your thoughts on the talk page. We’ll try to keep the page to date as we progress with the project, so consider watchlisting for updates. Samwalton9 (WMF) (talk) 14:21, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

How to do this?[edit]

How do you go on recent changes patrol? It’s not like Random Page Patrol, where you just press a button and it brings you to a random page. There isn’t a button to bring you to a random recent change. I would like to do this, but I’m not quite sure how. 98.97.36.1 (talk) 02:39, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You click on "recent changes" on the left side of the screen under "Contribute". However, I'm on the old Wikipedia setup so it might be different for you so I'll post the following link for you instead: Special:RecentChanges WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 06:33, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
