WIkiProject Doctor Who: March 2025 Newsletter

[edit]
The Space-Time Telegraph
Volume III, Issue I — March 2025
Brought to you by the editors of WikiProject Doctor Who

One hell of a newsletter.
Geronimoooo!
Apparently this newsletter the queen of outer space... wait... no, sorry; that's Belinda! Swashbuckle your seatbelts because this newsletter is full of information regarding recent happenings in the Doctor Who WikiProject. You'll also find updates on the upcoming series and elsewhere the expanded Whoniverse.

Series 15

The fifteenth series of Doctor Who is set to begin this Saturday with "The Robot Revolution" on 12 April and will conclude eight weeks later after "The Reality War" airs on 31 May. It will once again be accompanied by a new series of Doctor Who: Unleashed. Draft articles for all eight episodes have already been created, the links to which can be found here. New novelisations adapting the first three episodes of the series are set to be released on 10 July.

Recent Article Regenerations

Since the last Newsletter, we've had a whole heap of quality content added to the Project. The articles Thasmin, "Joy to the World", Vislor Turlough, "Space Babies", "Legend of the Sea Devils", Weeping Angel, Doctor Who series 13, Pyramids of Mars, "The Legend of Ruby Sunday", "The Power of the Doctor", The Twin Dilemma, "The Husbands of River Song", "Demons of the Punjab", Doctor Who Live, "The Return of Doctor Mysterio", and Attack of the Cybermen have all been improved to GA-level quality. List of Torchwood episodes and List of Doctor Who episodes (2005-present) have been improved to FL-level quality, while the Doctor Who specials (2022) and Doctor Who series 14 Good Topics have been successfully promoted.
An additional good topic covering the series articles from 2005–present has been nominated and is currently receiving feedback. Though content creation has slowed in recent months, content improvement should hopefully see an increase as series 15 ticks ever closer.

Future Project Goals

The WikiProject will once again be working in collaboration to complete a Good Topic encompassing the series and its related articles. Any contributions will be greatly appreciated. Several editors have planned upcoming work for Doctor Who-related character, episode, and performer articles. More information, as well as where you can find out how to help, can be found it at Wikipedia:WikiProject Doctor Who/Goals.

We Want You... To Help With The Newsletter

Due to the departure of previous newsletter contributors, the Newsletter is beaming out a message from Stonehenge requesting your help. If anyone would like to help actively contribute to the Newsletter's content updates, please let us know, as we are willing to accept anyone who is interested in helping with writing the Newsletter. We'll all stories in the end... make sure the newsletter is a chapter in yours.

XFDcloser error; help needed

[edit]

Hi @Rlendog, Hope you are doing well, I was looking for active administrators and your reply came. I have a request unrelated to the that discussion. HilssaMansen19 (talk) 20:07, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What is the request? Rlendog (talk) 20:09, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There was a system glitch or error and closer also redirected two other pages including [1],[2] at the same time as you can verify it. I also took a screenshot as the process was slow and showing 3 talk pages instead of 1, the standard.
I have reopened the original discussion now which was meant to be closed. Can you please help in resolving this system error redirects back and also change redirect of Talk:Fusion Engine.
I can't undo it as it says the destination is the same.
Also, please guide me on how should I report this error and whether it is frequent and known. HilssaMansen19 (talk) 20:15, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@HilssaMansen19 I haven't used XfDcloser so I am not sure what the issue is. Do we just need to correct the redirect target? I was looking at the history of RfD list over the past couple of days and didn't see the item that was shown on your talk page, so I'm not sure where it should redirect to.Rlendog (talk) 20:20, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies as I might have made it sound complicated. I am confused myself.
Issue
When XFDcloser is generally used, all the steps are done automatically with no errors on my uses until this one.
The discussion was Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fusion Engine. Only that page and it's talk page should have been redirected but 2 other pages were redirected along with it. They were deleted in their respective AfDs. [[3]move_redirect_back_req1], [[4]move_redirect_back_req2].
Request -
Please help by moving all the three redirects above back to the original form before redirect. I am really grateful for your time and help. HilssaMansen19 (talk) 20:31, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Third one is - [[5]move_redirect_back_req3] HilssaMansen19 (talk) 20:32, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Requesting @Liz here as well rather than copying it all again to tp -
Hi Liz, can you kindly check the above and help out.
Also, I was proceeding with NACD in an AfD, I have taken screenshot of the issue, and there seems to be either cleanup issues or XFDcloser maintainance error.
This time, I chose Keep per unanimous consensus of keep on the AfD, there was a Redirection warning template verifying whether I would like to proceed with redirecting the above mentioned unrelated pages to another unrelated page. HilssaMansen19 (talk) 22:12, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Liz can you spare a moment and help reverting the redirects.
I am in haste as this might cause confusion.
Articles which were deleted but have been redirected by XFDcloser. Even after causing error, it is continuously showing this option.
  • It notifies that already deleted pages (move_back_req1&2) will be redirected again to Fusion engine when choosing discussion consensus as Keep in unrelated AfD.
  • Whereas, it automatically redirects if automated redirect is chosen. The result of AfD does not matter as it is shown again and again in keep, redirect and redirect.
HilssaMansen19 (talk) 23:26, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Rlendog,
Just updating about this. @Star Mississippi reverted these glitches. Still, thank you for listening and engaging here. HilssaMansen19 (talk) 05:39, 22 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry just seeing this. For future reference, @HilssaMansen19, Liz doesn't use pings. So you'd need to go right to her Talk Star Mississippi 02:14, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
