Lilian Constantini (September 26, 1902 – January 5, 1982) was a French silent actress in the 1920s and 1930s.

Early life

Liliane Louise Hélène Chapiro-Volpert was born on September 26, 1902 in Paris.[1] Her father, Boris Chapiro-Volpert, was a Russian-born chemist.[2] Her mother was Louise Guesde.[2] Her maternal grandfather, Jules Guesde, was a French journalist and Socialist politician.[3]

Career

She was a silent actress, acting in the 1920s and 1930s. She took the stage name of Lilian Constantini.[1]

Personal life

On May 3, 1943, she married Charles Schneider, a businessman who served as the Chairman of Schneider Electric from 1942 to 1960.[1][3] The couple had three children, two of whom were born prior to their marriage: Jean-Paul Schneider (1937–1938; died in infancy), novelist Dominique Schneidre (born July 8, 1942) and Catherine Schneider (born October 11, 1944).[3] Catherine was the fourth wife of French filmmaker Roger Vadim, with whom she has a son, Vania Plemiannikov.[4]

Death

She died on January 5, 1982 in Saint-Tropez.[1]
