Central Fells
You seem to have found your way round Wikipedia pretty well so the welcome note was probably unecessary, but its always nice to have one!. Your additions to the Lake District central fells look really good and was wondering if they would benefit from a template at the bottom to link the fells. Central Fells Part Two
Hi thanks for contacting me. Nice articles on the Central Fells, good detail. Yes I've got some photos for the articles you've written. I've certainly got photos of High Tove, Sergeant's Crag, Raven Crag and Tarn Crag and possibly some others. I will start putting them in the mountain boxes in the next few days. Theres a nice view of Thirlmere from the slopes of Steel Fell in the Thirlmere article which is mine and would look good in the Steel Fell item. I think you are right theres a few different versions of the mountain box and that probably wants standardising, I started putting the little English flag in lately. A lot of the fell articles want expanding and that wants doing at some time. If you are going to start on the Far Eastern Fells then I better leave them alone, I've done quite a bit of work on them. I know I have some photos for Thornthwaite Crag, Ill Bell, Tarn Crag (Longsleddale), Brock Crag, Hartsop Dodd and some others. Nice work and keep in touch. Sorry I haven't had the internet for a while so late response! Will do the far eastern template when I have internet again and some time. If you have time feel free to do it yourself - its only really a matter of copying the template:Central Fells and replacing the links and changing the title to something like template:Far Eastern Fells. Great job on the Far Eastern Fells. Sorry about Wansfell, I had no intention of doing it then realised I had quite a neat photo, I was just taking a photo of Troutbeck village and Wansfell happened to be in the background. I know I have some photos on FE fells, Ill Bell, Thornthwaite Beacon, Brock Crags and Hartsop Dodd, and probably some more. I'm going to keep chipping away at the Wainwrights, I tend to write articles on fells that I've got pictures of, although I will run out of pictures this winter, until I can get to the Lakes next year. I've got pictures of Watson Dodd, Knott Rigg (not brilliant), Bannerdale Crags and a few others although I'm not exactly sure what until I rummage. I'd also like to expand some of the articles, the Skiddaw article is woeful for a 3000 footer (and the picture is average) and I think Little Man should have its own page (needs splitting). Eastern Fells
Yes I agree. The Helvellyn Range Template was around before the Central, Far Eastern templates etc were made, so it will need to be changed inline with the others. Not sure if there is any way to combine them both, thought about possibly using Template:Navbox generic but not sure if this is worth it. - Suicidalhamster 00:31, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Definition of a Fell...
Hi, thanks for the message. I take your point about consistancy, but to strive for uniformity of approach should not excuse poor use of terminology and definition. Simply because a peak is included in one of Wainwright's books does not make it a fell. Fells are large upland moor areas, sometimes encompassing a peak which is referred to by the fell name, and sometimes not. Green Crag is a case in point. If you have ever been there you will know that it is simply a high knoll of rock, set in a much wider moorland fell. Green Crag itself is about 50m square. To describe Green Crag as being a "fell" in the opening line is simply wrong; it is a peak, set on a fell. Wainwright's books are titled "The xxx Fells" to define an area of walking, he did not intend to imply that every single walk included therin had an attendant fell with the same name. His Green Crag walk indicates a destination, not that you would be walking on Green Crag. The walk itself is across Ulpha and Birker Fells, both of which contain many peaks and knolls that have individual names. Sorry if this feels as though I have jumped in two boots first, but encyclopedic content should be accurate. Pyrope 08:10, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

I'd been meaning to have a go at it for some time, as it was rather woefully inadequate, but it's looking a lot more respectable now. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
