Dear Bhadani, thanks a ton for your warm words and calling me an asset to the project. The vote that I awaited the most was yours; I knew that it wd be an unqualified support from you but did not know if you would be around to vote for me. I even fleetingly considered e-mailing you abt my rfa as ur vote matters a lot to me, but decided against it as it is not in keeping with the spirit of Wikipedia. I'm very happy that mid-december is almost here, as it wd mean that we can look forward to working with you regularly. --Gurubrahma 14:58, 7 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Dose

--Dore chakravarty 20:56, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Dosing

Dosing must be an article. This cannot be merged with dose. In fact dosing, a verb form for the word dose, must be included in article dose. Dosing also has appeared in many other articles. We have to place a link in those articles. Please see to this. What the other person has done appears to me to be a total mistake.

Dosing

Sent a note on talk page like this to CDN99.

Surprised! Merger with Article Dose does not go with the contents of talk page Dosing. Please read again the talk page on Dosing. The contents are very clear to represent the use of the word Dosing in Industries even to day. My vast experience for years in various countries also supports this idea of mine. Please therefore remove merger and confirm. Then I can make this an Article. You can rethink of what you have to do in the case of article Dose.

Thanks for the compliment, Bhadani I was born in New York and a practicing Hindu. My parents are from Mangalore. When I went to India, I assumed that many people knew more than me but I was suprised many Hindus in America have a far greater knowledge of Hinduism then their brethern in India.

Dosing

What do you suggest now please on the reply reproduced below. I am unable to decide what to do next.

Until there is an article for dosing, there should be a redirect to dose for the articles that link to dosing; just like trade-trading, etc. Words that differ in their suffix don't usually warrant separated articles, especially when they are disambiguation pages.--CDN99 18:17, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

Merry Christmas to you too

Dear Bhadani,

Merry Christmas to you and your family, I just returned from spending Christmas with some of my very old friends and their family and just saw you message. I also wish you and your family all the best for the New Year.

I have tried to stay away from Wikipedia since it has been more of a frustration for myself. However I do pop in every now and then to see what is happening. I saw that you fixed up the Gurkha article and becuase of your editing, it looks so much better. Then I saw someone else come in and simply edit what they thought is appropriate which is quite disappointing.

Thank you Bhadani for your Season's Greetings and for helping me with the Gurkha Article.

Sincerely,

Dr. S. Chauhan

Dear Bhadani

I took your advice about staying with Wikipedia since i now see that I shouldn't give up on something that could actually turn out for the best and help others.

I am really on a tight schedule since I am stuck with a bunch of things as well as getting the next relief mission set up for the Himalyan foothills in India. I should be with the next medical relief program in Uttaranchal India by May 2006, so I am busy in preparing and organising.

I will try and slip stuff into the Gurkha article when I can. I recently voted on a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Dbachmann_%282%29#Other_users_who_endorse_this_summary

Its very ugly, but I have been following it for a while and after seeing "The Resonse", I just couldn't keep silent.

Hope all is well with you and take care. And thank you again for your encouragement.

It is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. SoothingR 17:03, 1 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

QUOTE
Yes thanks for your suggestion - I shall do that for sure. And, I also convey my New Year greetings to you. --Bhadani 17:08, 1 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dear Tim please see my above comments. Yesterday I thought over the matter as regards the issues raised by you, and analyzed my edits. I found that I have been generally using preview before saving. I understand that the concept of preview is applicable edit-wise, and each edit should be preferably previewed. Thus, there may be repeated edits by the same user of the same page, which may appear to create "clutter" in the history – but actually it is indicative of the activities on that particular page as also edits to that particular page by that particular user. In my opinion, the edits are not quantifiable: I mean to say that no one should expect that a user shall do edit to a particular page only once in a day or so on: thus if one is making massive additions to contents, and endeavoring to improve the contents, he/she will have to repeatedly do edits, of course use of preview is implied.
I may add that at times I have created pages with several paragraphs in one go Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple and Indian rope trick – but it is not always possible. In case, you find examples of creating a page of several paragraphs by other fellow editors, please inform me: I would surely like to inter-act with him/her to hone my editing skills.
As regards your point about cluttering the recent changes by repeated edits, I think that activities by editors, unless they are known vandals, should not be termed as “clutter” as activities on the recent changes are indicative of aggregate edits, and more edits add more value to “the sum total of human knowledge” for which we are striving. I may give an example: 100 edits by a single user to a single page, or 100 edits by 100 different users to the same page, have the same "net effect" of "clutter" on the page's history and the recent changes. The environment here is dynamic - not like a printed page, and one has to get used to this environment - faster the better.
Having clarified my position, I appreciate the spirit of your suggestion, and express my thanks   to you. I also assure you that I shall surely continue to use preview. Regards. --Bhadani 14:11, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

UNQUOTE

Yes, I've read both your and Ancheta Wis' comments on my talkpage. Thanks for the explanation. It's always nice to hear things from another perspective, that can free your mind. I will stop using Template:preview for all users that have more than 4 edits in a row, I will however look at the nature of these edits. If the first edit comes up with a broken template, and the other 4 fixes were intended to fix that, I think Template:preview will still serve its job. Thanks for the thorough explanation. SoothingR 17:45, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Blocking AOL IP numbers

Please be aware that when you block rotating IP numbers used by AOL you are unlikely to hit your target vandal. This IP number has been placed on "the list" of rotating proxy numbers which should not be blocked. I am a registered user on Wiki, and am often hit by such blocks. Please see my user page User:WBardwin/AOL Block Collection for a history of these events and related discussions. I would appreciate a prompt release of this block. Thank you. WBardwin 08:20, 6 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

IP address is 207.200.116.132. Oddly enough, I receive this AOL proxy address more often than not. Thanks for the release. WBardwin 08:27, 6 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hi! Blocked again - IP address is 207.200.116.13. Please release this variant too!! WBardwin 08:51, 6 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the sympathy -- but I'm still blocked from editing. I guess I'll sign off and get ready for bed. Hope this will be cleaned up early tomorrow. Best wishes. WBardwin 08:59, 6 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
If you are still online -- here the first number again by another blocker. Please release this one as well, so we can start fresh tomorrow. Please release your recent block of a revolving proxy number. IP address is 207.200.116.132 - blocked by Marudubshinki. Thank you for your help. WBardwin 09:19, 6 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Big hello out to Chennai!

Hi Bhadani, just want to say thanks for your support of my RfA! I am now an admin, and will do my best to be as useful to Wikipedia as possible. If there is any way I can ever help you out, please let me know. I live in Ireland, but I was in Tamil Nadu once. I liked Chennai, and also particularly liked Madurai...the Shri Menakshee temple rocks the house! Do we have an article on that? Thanks again! Babajobu 16:21, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Traffic congestion

Hi Bhadani! I wonder if the anon edit at Traffic congestion might be retained on the basis that it seems to be relevant and constructive and we shouldn't WP:BITE? [1] It will be deleted or modified by the regular editors to the article over time as necessary. BTW, thank you for your vandal patrol work. It is an invaluable part of our work here. Best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 16:39, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the your response and the kind words. On another subject, I notice that you occasionally edit Hindu topics. I wonder if you would mind putting Adi Shankara on your watch list. If you could review the section, Shankara's dates, occasionally, that would be very helpful, too. It attracts attention from some POV pushers that mostly edit anonymously. User:Mel Etitis used to do this, but he is inactive now. I don't have the background or the interest to do more than watch grammar and superficial content. Best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 17:21, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
Your help with Adi Shankara will be most appreciated. I'll thank you for watching my edits too. Best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 06:46, 8 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

subst

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template.

Hello Bhadaniji,

I request your advice on elevating this article to FA status. I've started the peer review, and I hope you will give your views and make improvements.

From Badagnani

Nice to meet you! I never ran across you before because we must work on different sorts of articles. It's funny that we both have similar names. Is yours your first name or last? Mine is my last name, from my grandparents who came to USA from Italy after World War I. I am told that my name in Sanskrit ("Bada Nyani") means "great knowledge" or "big wise man." I guess that you know both Tamil and Hindi. I attend the Thyagaraja Aradhana in Cleveland every year. Hope I can visit South India one day. Badagnani 11:38, 9 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Happy new year

Wish you and your family a Happy New Year '06 and best of life for ever. I am slghtly active on the Eng Wiki for some time and shall revert shortly.

Thankyou for presenting the exceptional newcomer barnstar on my user page.

DYK

Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article female sexuality, which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Heads-up

Hi, just noticed that you awarded the butterfly barnstar to User:Siddiqui. Can you also keep a watch on him or counsel him to not push POV? I've noticed several discussions on WP:INWNB about his unilateral replacement of "Indian sub-continent" to "South Asia." Thanks a ton, --Gurubrahma 10:37, 11 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Bhadani for taking the pain of counselling in the matter. --ΜιĿːtalk 12:25, 11 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
I love butterflies and had a collection before coming to North America for studies. There are many countries in South Asia and few, especially Pakistan, prefer not to use "Indian Subcontinent". I am really sorry that changed the name to "South Asia" and caused trouble to anybody. I may have been insensitve and inconsiderate. But the same you have to clarify that whether why the term "Indian Subcontinent" is more preferable to "South Asia". Same kind of butterflies are found in this geographical area.
Siddiqui 00:45, 13 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

My reply copied and pasted from his page: Dear Siddiqui, I understand the sensitivity of the matter, and I think that the use of these words (South Asia and Indian subcontinent shall depend on the context. Thanks for your frank reply. This is an issue, which will continue to be debated endlessly, and perhaps shall never be resolved to the satisfaction of all concerned. But, after all History is History, Geography is Geography, and Politics is Politics, and accordingly, in my opinion, the use of these terms may be taken into the context when the same is being used. Now, let us forget the debate which shall continue perhaps for decades, and concentrate on building the Project wikipedia. Happy editing ! (Bhadani)
