Tacit knowledge is difficult to explain.

Tacit knowledge is a form of cognitive knowledge that is difficult to explain, though one should try, especially in an encyclopedia article. Tacit knowledge is often acquired through experience.
Individuals may be unaware of their own tacit knowlege.

Explicit knowledge can be put into words.

Explicit knowledge is a form of cognitive knowledge than can be explained. Explicit knowledge can therefore be expressed with words or symbols.
