Thanks for adding the great pics to this article. You really improved it tremendously...BZ! FieldMarine (talk) 23:25, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks. The one in the infobox is mine but the gallery pics I moved over from the MCAS Miramar article. There is a lot of room for expansion on the article. A note on the existing facilities and building of new museum is probably in order. Eventually I'd like to get to it. Next time I am at the museum (August maybe) I'll do a bit more research. Cheers--Looper5920 (talk) 23:28, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar

Thank you, good sir. I'm glad to see that you're finding time to come and make some edits of your own. Hope all stays well. bahamut0013 00:23, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New article

I'd like you to take a look at Marine Corps Security Force Battalion‎ if you can. I kinda ran thin on references, and I'd hate to see it stay a stub. bahamut0013 23:43, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly merge with Marine Corps Security Guard?--Looper5920 (talk) 23:50, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't think they were part of the same chain of command. Considering MSG's affiliation with the Dept of State and the MSF's affiliation with the Navy, they probably couldn't comfortably share an article. bahamut0013 23:59, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What does the indian head on the logo mean???

Romero24.249.34.171 (talk) 02:42, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is taken from the 2nd Infantry Division's logo. 5th Marines served as part of the 4th Marine Brigade under the 2nd Infantry Division in World War I as part of the American Expeditionary Force. They adopted the division's Indianhead logo into their own.--Looper5920 (talk) 02:48, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Distribution Liaison Company

Noted. I added a merge tag. Feel free to make a note on the talk page. At the end of the weekend, if you haven't made a merge and redirect, I'll do it — unless there is discussion to the contrary. — ERcheck (talk) 03:33, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, do you know what is the total number of fighter aircraft of USAF? Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 21:44, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I declined the speedy deletion request on Joseph R. Chenelly. If you believe this article should be deleted, consider taking it to WP:AfD.

Moving mess

As Dcfowler1 (talk · contribs) ignored the various warnings regarding consensus-less page moves, I blocked him/her for 12 hours. In the meantime, we now have an enormous mess on our hands, with nearly one hundred page moves performed over the past 24 hours. Arg! --Kralizec! (talk) 18:36, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can correct the bad page moves if you can fix the edits to the pages themselves. --Kralizec! (talk) 18:42, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Using my admin tools I can undo the page moves with just a couple of clicks (or five clicks if you or someone else put in a redirect already), however I have no clue about the content this editor changed in some of the pages. --Kralizec! (talk) 18:47, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There, I think that is all of them. Please let me know if I missed any, or if some still are not correct; some of the page histories were kinda of convoluted, so I might not have moved them to the correct locations. Thanks for all of your help!! --Kralizec! (talk) 19:48, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Needs a POV change

Have you seen United States Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command? The shooting controversy section is insanely bloated, I think there are some anti-military folks pushing an agenda. I was hoping you could take a look at it and see what you think. bahamut0013 22:08, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company has some wonky text in it too. I know cleaning up that kind of crud is one of your talents. bahamut0013 17:36, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the heads up. I'll give it a go in a few hours.--Looper5920 (talk) 17:55, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

VMFA-134

I understand your reason for pulling LtCol Nelson from the story. (so far as I know, this man who I never knew, was just another officer doing his job) I don't understand pulling the A-4 ref. As a reader, I would like to know what planes were flown and when. In my memory they flew the A-4E and A-4M, and were just getting Hornets, as I retired, but I expect they flew other models as well. I was an east coast Marine, so my contact with 134 was limited. You are a better writer, and wikipedian than I am, so I will defer to your judgement. I will not re ad the info, but I hope that you do. I would also appreciate any thing that you could ad to Robert K. Hall of 3/164 "Marines" Semper fiJtmilesmmr (talk) 17:43, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Making the assumption that you have administrator priviledges, I was hoping to solicit your assistance to sort out some naming discrepancies. There are several US Navy squadrons (see Category:United States Navy squadrons) which are mis-named, and done so in an incinsistent manner, because they conflict with the abbreviated name of a road in Virginia. VA-12, an article which you originally created, is one such example. In my opinion there should be a "VA-12 (disambiguation)" page (which I would be happy to create) to cover these conflicts, but the Wikipedia title "VA-12" and the others in the Navy squadrons category should go to the Navy squadron because these are their actual names that everyone knows them by, not abbreviations. If you will change them I will be happy to do the leg work of sorting out the redundant Wikilinks, double-redirects, creation of the disambiguation pages, and referencing the disambiguation pages at the top of all affected articles. Respectfully submitted, Pen of bushido (talk) 17:39, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I am not an administrator. ANother approache may be to move VA-12 to Attack Squadron 12 (United States Navy). Let me know where I can help.--Looper5920 (talk) 17:50, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

VA-210 (and others?) also redirects to a Virginia highway. I've been trying to figure out how to fix it......I'm getting there. Todd Jtmilesmmr (talk) 18:19, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

MWSS-274

Did you create the Wikipedia entry for MWSS-274? I've been with this unit for 6 years and can add alot to the history. We need to add Operation Mountain Strom as part of Operation Enduring Freedom to the engagements list.

I think that the article may be ready to be nominated for Good article. I'm off work until Tuesday night, so I can pound away at any needed fixes. However, you've made considerably more meat to the article than I, so I wanted to see if you would be avaiable for the review process as well. Do you have any thoughts? bahamut0013 17:28, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

While the article is good I still think there is some information that needs to be added. Just of the top of my head their needs to be an inclusion of the six functions of Marine aviation, some info on the MACCS and maybe a paragraph about the future of Marine aviation to include future aircraft, tactical air integration plan etc...just my thoughts though. I am not really in a position to monitor and make changes and will not be for a few more weeks.--Looper5920 (talk) 20:35, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I will wait. I think I will take a crack at the "Future" section. I'll have to take a look at the aviation plan again... but reading those kinds of reports drive me slightly nuts!
On another note: changing all of those unit logos... wouldn't it be simpler to overwrite the old images? Just a suggestion. bahamut0013 23:54, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Order of Battle diagrams

Hey, I noticed that you found discrepancies with Noclador's USMC organizational diagrams. I've been conversing with him for a little while about making some fixes, your input would be appreciated. You always seem to find out about unit activations, deactivations, and reassignments before I do, and he is willing to update these graphics frquently (and coordination will help me fix the MSC navboxes in a timely manner). Cheers! bahamut0013 18:55, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Greater Sandy Run / Camp Davis

I'm a bit confused by Camp Davis... I'd thought when I'd edited it a few minutes ago that it was surely a satellite facility of MCAS New River because it had functional runways, and was formerly an Army and Navy aviation facility. But the few references I've found since then ([1], [2], [3], & [4]) mention that Lejeune acquired it in 1992 and is renovating certain portions of it... Unless some of that info is wrong, the only explanation I can think of is that it used to be an aviation facility when the Corps acquired it in the 50s, then New River turned it over to Lejeune in 92, no longer to be used for aviation. Can you clear this up for me? bahamut0013 23:18, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
