Hello angr. I will try to provide some references for you but it will take a little time. Looking over the discussion I realize that, even though the families are pretty well set and agreed upon, the larger groupings are very controversial. The Russians seem to get excited about the concept of a Balto-Slavic, and the topic of Armenian is similarly heated. There are many theories of a homeland as well. It is unfair of me to throw out dogmatic statements. Still, you have to stand somewhere (I think). So, I will try to modify my section with qualifications and throw in some references to concepts that I use. I think the 4-quadrant idea is pretty widespread and ought to be in there. Anatolian, of course, comes out of an earlier phase, as everyone recognizes. My original explicit source was an article turned into course material by Calvert Watkins. I took the course. But, this classification is also supported by the Encyclopedia Britannica section on Languages of the World under Indoeuropean. It does not state the classification explicitly, the way Watkins does, but it does define north european, etc, and speak of a Balto-Slavic. It does discuss the problems and theories. I'm sure the whole topic is well worked over in the professional articles. It is just that I do not have access to them. I probably can find some books. I need some time. If you find the section too objectionable, go ahead and backlog or remove it. I must say, however, that what is happening is that Wikipedia is some 50 years out of date, which was never its intent I am sure.

DYK

Updated DYK query Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article Priam's Treasure, which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Section headings

Hello. You may be using too many capital letters in section headings. According to Wikipedia:Manual of Style one should write "External links" with a lower-case initial "l" and "Extent and duration" with a lower-case initial "d", etc. Michael Hardy 20:48, 4 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Roman praenomina

Could you provide sources for your edits to List of Roman praenomina? In particular, I'm wondering about your addition of Caelus as a praenomen (who's an example?) and your changes to the etymologies of names such as Lucius.

By the way, I see you're a relatively accomplished editor on Wikipedia. Why not create an account?Simetrical (talk) 21:57, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, speaking of references, I got a question for you at Talk:List of Roman praenomina. Just checking, no big deal. Alexander 007 02:02, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
