Thank you!

Hi Shreshth91,

I would like to thank you for your support and kind words on my RfA. I'll do my best to be a good administrator. If you need anything, or if I ever do something wrong with my new powers, please contact me. Mushroom 17:13, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You're a sysop!

Hi, Shreshth91, Congratulations on Becoming a Sysop

Hey there. I'm pleased to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator! You've volunteered to do housekeeping duties that normal users sadly cannot participate in. Sysops can't do a lot of stuff: They can't delete pages just like that (except patent nonsense like "aojt9085yu8;3ou"), and they can't protect pages in an edit war they are involved in. But they can delete random junk, ban anonymous vandals, delete pages listed on Votes for deletion (provided there's a consensus) for more than one week, protect pages when asked to, and keep the few protected pages that exist on Wikipedia up to date.

Almost anything you can do can be undone, but please take a look at The Administrators' how-to guide and the Administrators' reading list before you get started (although you should have read that during your candidacy ;). Take a look before experimenting with your powers. Also, please add Administrators' noticeboard to your watchlist, as there are always discussions/requests for admins there. If you have any questions drop me a message at My talk page. Have fun! =Nichalp «Talk»=

Please also add your name to WP:LA =Nichalp «Talk»= 05:02, 3 December 2005 (UTC) [reply]

Congratulations!

Hog badger

Yeah, it wasn't my best, I was populating some of the red links on the Sikkim page.

Careful now, don't delete anything in haste except patent nonsense like 0347023haudgho57 etc. You'd have to be very careful while deletion. I just caught user:splash for a bad deletion. Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 10:17, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Appreciation

Thanks for the 'Links for Wikipedians interested in India content'. A very thoughtful gesture. cheers mate. Veej 16:15, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Administrators

Congratulations on your appointment; I was happy to support you. I would like to say, however, that your comment here disappoints me greatly. Please show me anywhere that it says that any one administrator has to use all the tools. Please read Wikipedia:Adminstrators again. Newer editors and adminstrators may not fully understand the effects of their actions. While I welcome 14 year olds with open arms, there are real problems with the quality of articles on Wikipedia that only people who are knowledge in the field can fix (like a physicist with a PhD like User:Awolf002). I have seen far too many good editors leave the project because they perceive that the system in weighted in favor of vandals, trolls and people who like to "play politics" rather than create an encyclopedia. Even if User:Awolf002 was never going to use the tools, to refuse to give a valuable long-time editor access to the tools is self defeating if your goal is to create a great encyclopedia. You need to fully understand the impact that your actions have on the long term health of the project. -- DS1953 16:52, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It's a learning experience for all of us. That's what makes it interesting. -- DS1953 15:53, 5 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Mindmatrix scam adminship

I have recently been granted greater access to your systems, and can begin the process of salvaging the sensitive information from my politically unstable land, as I promised. Please accept this loonie as a token of faith that I will conduct myself as required to complete our transaction. Thank you for your support. Also, congratulations on your adminship, for which I meant to add my support vote, but then neglected to do so (doh!) Mindmatrix 20:38, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome message

Hey Shreshth, thank you for your welcome message :-) I want to set up my own User page similar to yours (except maybe less cluttered :-P ) and I guess you use templates to do that; unfortunately I find the amount of information on this overwhelming! Could you maybe give me a few tips? If it is easier to chat over an instant messenger let me know. Bye! - Feenix 17:02, 5 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Shreshth I will work my way through your suggestions. Just one more thing, can you tell me how I can add the a link talk after my name in superscript? -Feenix 17:27, 5 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

DRV on BORED

User:Larryau put together WP:DRV#BORED: the consensus there seems to be that your speedy was not within the letter of the CSD rule, but the page was hopeless. In view of the fact that you speedied the article 4 times, the first time 2 minutes after article creation and made no attempt to contact Larryau, I'd appreciate your contribution on the DRV. --- Charles Stewart 19:51, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm an admin now!!

Hi Shreshth, thanks a ton for your support of my rfa, the final tally was 50-0-0. Congrats on becoming an admin. I did not vote on your rfa as I was in a great dilemma. I felt that your actions on Proby Cautley were inappropriate as you had completed the merge without initiating a discussion; also, the edit history of the older article to which many editors had contributed would not be easily seen as the merged article is a new one - I'd have preferred the merge to be in reverse direction; re-listing it on DYK was also inappropriate as it was not a new article. However, except for this incident, I've always noticed that your efforts were first-class. Hence, I'd have voted neutral. However, as ur nom was a self-nom, and given the tendency of people to pile-on votes, I did not want you to subject to possible oppose votes from other editors ('coz they may not know abt ur overall contribs as well as I know). Hence, I decided to be silent and cast no vote. hope u understand; btw, since u r a senior admin, I'll be bugging you with the doubts I have. Man, just noticed, ur wiki stress is high!! --Gurubrahma 10:06, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, what's that about the redemption bit? As I said before, I've great respect for what you have done on Wikipedia. And now that you have explained your stand, and as I see things from your perspective, I view it in a much better light. btw, you may want to check this out: Wikipedia:Be cautious. I think we both shd unwind for a week before unleashing our admin powers, 'coz I too am experiencing some wikistress right now. Regards, --Gurubrahma 16:00, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Don't be so quick to delete something.

TSTV is a real TV station. It's is just found under it's older name on Google, KVRTV. But I didn't even have a chance to add that in. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robertetaylor (talkcontribs)

Reason for notability

KVR-TV is the only student-managed and Federal Communications Commission-licensed television station in the United States. It operates with a low-power license serving Central Austin, Texas and also can be seen over campus and residence hall cable systems serving the University of Texas at Austin. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robertetaylor (talkcontribs)

Article reverted

Why are you reverting the article about Castro's reality? It contains no bad words, obscenities or offenses. It simply contains verifiable information that anyone who has lived in that prison island would know. Are you getting paid by the regime or something?

Here it is, read it again and you'll see how much wrong you are doing of the people of Cuba by covering up these facts.

Ideological prosecution

Throughout the years Fidel Castro has imposed political prosecution comparable to that employed by the Nazi during their ruling. Many men and women have suffered and still suffer imprisonment and both mental and physical torture simply for expressing a different political point of view. To name a few Marta Beatriz Roque and Oscar Elias Biscet have been among the most relevant, but by far not the only victims of Castro's relentless manhunt. He has, through the use of propaganda headed by a totally government controlled press, portrayed the people he imprisons and tortures as mercenaries at the service of the United States, when in reality they are nothing but regular Cubans who have finally said NO to years of human rights violations and have decided to speak up. Confined in conditions that by modern world standards are less than decent he tries to break their will by not providing medical care while in prison, keeping them awake for long hours, making them withstand low temperatures wearing only light or no clothing at all, forcing them to urinate and defecate in a hole on the floor of the cell were they stay so that they have to smell their own waste, feeding them only very little and very bad food and threatening them with harming their loved ones if they don’t change their political position. Castro has succeeded in hiding these facts from the rest of the world for almost fifty years by not allowing freedom of press, and implementing Revolution Defense Committees that operate in every block of every city in Cuba that will report to higher authorities any citizen who deviates in any way from Castro’s iron fist rulings. He has also succeeded in selling the world the idea that in Cuba exists free education and medical care while is well known to older Cubans that a portion of their salary is automatically deducted to pay for those services, this is simply something that is not being mentioned anymore and that younger generations simply don’t know. Castro has used the Cuban school system as what is probably the most effective piece of his Nazi style propaganda machine. By manipulating children’s minds he injects a profound hate for other nations and their citizens and convinces them that the Revolution guaranties a plentiful future for them and because of that they should be willing to offer their lives to defend it.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.152.247.15 (talk)

upturned collars

didn't see the link b/f posting.

Note to Shreshth91: quit editing me, you're 14 and from India, what gives you the right to edit a change I posted on upturned collars? I didn't change anything in the post, I simply added to it. And with no profanity or any other inappropriate gestures of any kind. The post was lacking information that was appropriate in accompanying the current text. Wikipedia is about everyone being able to add information to the encyclopedia, NOT editing another users input. DON'T DO IT AGAIN! Collar Poppin'

someone deleted my edit to upturned collar in which I described the new trend of Collar Poppin' as well as the slang term Collar Popper, which would be descibed as a member of lower class America wearing the "Upturned Collar" outside of its original intention. Someone deleted me, I don't know if it was you, but in turn I attempted to delete them. Didn't work, obviously, but someone thing should be done about administrators editing material that should be present in current works. I would appreciate if you would re-post my original post. If these so called "administrators" don't stop editing me, you won't have to ban me, I'll boycott you (Wikipedia) and return to using Encarta or Britanica. the English version of Wiki is readily available to Australia, UK, & USA. Last time I checked we all had the FREEDOM OF SPEECH, in fact I'm using mine right now. Please re-post my original post to upturned collar or at least quit editing that which should be included in Wiki's entries. Good day sir.

I'm now an admin.

Thanks to the support of you and 63 other people, discounting possible sockpuppets. — FREAK OF NURxTURE (TALK) 07:00, Dec. 17, 2005

Hello. Note that the writer of the article is the author. Furthermore, he is using it to justify his own autobiography (obviously against WP policy). - Eagleamn 12:16, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect deletion

Hi - I noticed you deleted the redirect I created for London Portal. It seems to me that this is pretty pointless - it is an extremely legitimate redirect given that anyone who searches for "London Portal" will be wanting Portal:London. Could you please clarify why you deleted it? File:Anglo-indian.jpg Deano 15:23, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Use of Sciences Po edit

Hi there, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I just wanted to respond to your comment on the Use of Sciences Po page. I certainly appreciate your suggestion, but I don't think we should merge that page into the broader Political Science page because the former describes the epithet Sciences Po which in turn refers to a school in Paris. I added the Use of Sciences Po page because the term Sciences Po is somewhat of a confusing one in France. I hope the content on the page shows why the page is important, particularly for the articles on the Paris Institute of Political Studies (French: Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris) and the National Foundation of Political Science (France) (French: Fondation Nationale des Sciences Politiques). If not, let me know and I'll be sure to make clarifications/corrections as needed. Again, Happy New Year!!
