Hey yourself

Hey Russ, Yeah I just started WPing not too long ago. Doubt there is a Multiverse High page, and I wouldn't want to start one (a little too obscure, y'know?). Good to hear from you again. Looks like some interesting work you're doing, based on the articles here. I generally stay on the cleanup side, but I did write a stub on my great-uncle: Ralph Holman. See you 'round the multiverse. BonsaiViking 04:18, 17 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Japanese emperors

The Japanese emperor double redirect that you fixed will actually be correct, once all of the articles themselves have been moved to the proper titles (about 100 out of 125 have already been moved). Anyway, there are a lot of such double redirects for the Japanese emperor articles, and I just want to make sure you don't waste any time on them unnecessarily. Thanks -Jefu 01:29, 19 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Done

Sorry about that. A banned user was attempting to use IPs to edit articles contrary to the terms of his ban. It became necessary to lock articles to stop this. The problem has now been solved and the user now realises that he could not edit articles while banned. It is now up to the arbitration committee to decide whether they wish to vary the terms of his ban or even repeal it. I've unprotected the article. I hope it didn't cause you too many problems. FearÉIREANN\(caint) 00:09, 31 October 2005 (UTC) [reply]

You tagged this article for merging with Iraq War on Oct 23. Personally, I think the thing should be deleted as it just seems to be the author's personal views.

Cool user name by the way. Reyk 04:46, 11 November 2005 (UTC) Ya, probably should just delete it. I was doing new pages and didn't know how to delete it. Thanks, by the way, my user name is my initials.--Rayc 05:37, 11 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops

Sorry about that! I didn't mean any offense, just trying to get IPers to contribute :-) JHMM13 19:12, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject:Nebraska proposal

Sorry it's taken me this long to get back to you. I had given up all hope on convincing anyone to work on Nebraska-related articles; now, that seems like it might be a more realistic goal.

People who are or who could possibly be convinced to support such an undertaking:

  1. You
  2. Me
  3. 76
  4. MONGO
  5. Bkell

If any further momentum builds, we can go about formally starting the project. –Swid 22:22, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What kind of infomration are you looking for about UW-Whitewater's Observatory?

Thank you for voting!

Hello there! I wanted to thank you for taking the time to vote on my arbitration commitee nomination. Although it was not successful, I appreciate the time you spent to read my statement and questions and for then voting, either positively or negativly. Again, thank you! The picture was from a biographical article. The picture was released publically. He has been deceased for a considerable ammount of time I wouldn't worry too much about someone bugging you about the copyright. The site said it was copyrighted but released.

Do people sign up if they want to play, or is it a find it, play it on you own type thing? We could include in the "Welcoming Quest" a mention of the game and keep the quest going until we have enough player to flesh out the actual mechanics of the rest of the game.--Rayc 15:55, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We have to find players. If they want to play, they will. Now we need a good tutorial - I cerrected quest - you are the WikiMaster and you give points for realized quests. Players only put links to their realization. I show you what a player should do ;) Przykuta 21:18, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of newspapers

Thanks for your interest in helping out with the list of newspapers. To answer your question...well, when I created the list, I really didn't have a notability in mind, so I simply went on the lists that were mentioned. I wouldn't really even know where to begin for a suggestion, and frankly I'm not sure if the notability information is available for most of the papers, but for a SWAG, lets say 5,000 circulation? That would seem like reaching enough readers to be significant. Weekly papers maybe more, say 10,000. Again, those are just best guesses, from an uninformed user who created the list because he likes creating lists. --Reflex Reaction (talk)• 04:09, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorting other backlogs

Hi, I proposed on the village pump proposal section that all active cleanup backlogs should be sorted by bot into X by date. They said I should ask you about it. Is there a bot that could do that?--Rayc 02:39, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I pulled the VP discussion to Wikipedia talk:Maintenance so it wouldn't get lost, and replied there. -- Beland 16:21, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Albion HS reply

Hey. Sorry for the delay in replying. Your idea sounds fine to me. I think if you were to either categorise or maintain a list of these pages as you went it would be very good.

Strangely, I think my objection to the Albion HS page served a purpose, articles very quickly appeared, as did a third Albion HS! Cheers, -Fermion 02:11, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

High School disambigs

You really expect people to create articles for all of those high schools? Most high schools are not notable. Some guy 05:34, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. Those pages hadn't already been created, and there's no reason to automatically assume they would be. It seems to me you are just encouraging the creation of non-notable pages. Some guy 05:43, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They're still schools after all, and categorising places the disambiguation article into a findable location for those who may not know the correct article title to begin with. We've done the same type of disambiguation for Andrew Fraser, an Australian name used by several people. It works ok for us. -- Longhair 05:40, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks for the Barnstar! Deep maintenance is usually pretty thankless :-) But in all fairness I should point out that clearing the backlog was a joint effort between myself and User:Gardar Rurak, we each did about oh... 600 pages or so. --W.marsh 15:55, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes - thanks for the barn-thingie. You just keep setting 'em up - we'll knock 'em down ;) Gardar Rurak 15:32, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

U.S. Senators

Exciting! 92.5% complete...the wholesale wikification and incorporation of entire reference works into this glorious encyclopedia of ours is incredibly exciting. Keep up the good work. Paul 21:24, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

not to cast a shadow on the procedings, but with regard to, say, Horace Fairbanks, the box you've added replicates information already included in the "Governors of Vermont" template, which already indicates his predecessor and successor. I would think the article requires only one of these templates, not both! - Nunh-huh 04:55, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I started the poll over again because the first one wasn't official- it was an opinion poll. When I saw that the community would accept the proposal, I put it into an official vote. // The True Sora 16:13, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
