Edits to Fag

User:Arachnocapitalist's last edit to Fag came 2 minutes prior to the warning about the 3RR rule, which was given in the same minute as you blocked him, and as explained eight minutes later, he was not vandalising despite the edit conflict which resulted in the removal of a prior warning. He is not a vandal, only inexperienced, and he would appreciate being unblocked. Despite circumventing the block, he thinks he deserves credit for trying to make things right. He acknowledges, however, that you were correct. --221.56.76.21 06:05, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Space Empires IV Article Deletion

Why was the Space Empires IV article deleted? I never saw any request for deletion on the article, only on the Adamant Mod article. -- 71.118.82.83 16:59, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted article

I just noticed that the article States List Puzzle had been deleted. It appears you were the one who deleted it back in May. What was the reason for its deletion and is there a deletion page I could see? MK2 02:43, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Closing prod- WP:PROD--Kungfu Adam (talk) 03:09, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A little short on details. Are you saying that someone else put up a "proposed for deletion" tag and when nobody responded it's an automatic deletion, so you deleted it after a week? If so, is there any way I can find out what the cause was for the original proposal? MK2 17:30, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
falls under wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collector of information. No indication that this puzzle is or ever was notable outside of the group at MS where it originated. This was the reason given.--Kungfu Adam (talk) 18:14, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Then I have to assume it was deleted by somebody who was misinformed. As the article indicated, the puzzle was known well beyond of its original place of origin. It was discussed on websites, message boards, periodicals, and radio stations throughout the country. Is there some way I can identify and respond to the person who originally suggested it should be deleted? MK2 05:42, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kungfubot

Hey Kungfuadam, I can never seem to be able to catch you online at the right time :) Anyway, I quieted your bot yesterday as it seemed to have trouble keeping a connection to the RC feed. And thanks for fixing my bot today :D I asked pgk about sharing watchlists, and he says that it's possible to (1) do a one-time sync and keep both bots in the same channel (like at -en-wp), or (2) for one bot to automatically download the other's lists and import them. What do you think? - Tangotango 14:40, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, kungfubot needs to download your watchlist. I can't keep it online all the time because I like to give the computer a rest at night. I have added a bunch of things to both watchlists, but Tangobot has more. I saw yesterday that there were a bunch of RC Reader resets, and I was coming on and off freenode. Anyhow, mine is there for a back-up. Also, next week I will be traveling with the computer so the bot will be offline again haha.--Kungfu Adam (talk) 15:37, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Kungfubot is out of commission for about 24 hours because some idiot stole my cable. They made a mess of wires and I didn't want to interrupt other people's service trying to fix it. A guy will come tomorrow afternoon to fix it.--Kungfu Adam (talk) 01:13, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Louisville vandal

Hi,

I'm not sure if you're aware of it, but on WP:LTA there exists a section on our good friend from Kentucky. Quite a few admins aren't aware of this fellow, it seems; as his vandalism and abuse sprees frequently go on for a while. A couple of times I've reported him on WP:AIV it got bounced by an admin because the IP he was using hadn't been given the full compliment of test messages. --EngineerScotty 17:39, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, obviously I am used to his antics and I block on sight. Apparently, this vandal thinks I am gay and have a love affair with a user that I have never talked to. Anyhow, I think this started because I reverted this user's changes at one point.--Kungfu Adam (talk) 17:46, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Angry Nintendo Nerd Page

hi, this page was voted for deletion this week, and a consensus was made, as well as lenghty disccussion and the decision was made to KEEP the entry. yet you come in the entry's page and mark the entry for deletion within 5 days. who are you? instead of taging page for immediate deletion within 5 days, please use the talk page. because it doesnt mean anything to you does not mean the rest of the world thinks exactly the same. thank you. --66.36.151.79 23:34, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry that I didn't check the talk page on that article. We can remove the prod tag. I think the article is ridiculous, but if it was nominated on WP:AFD nad the consensus was keep, ok. There is no reason to lose your civility--Kungfu Adam (talk) 01:10, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Kungfuadam, I've reviewed the AfD and I have some concerns that it was not properly closed. I believe the consensus was not keep, but my in fact have been delete. I am considering re-opening the AfD, but will wait until I have heard back from the closing editor before taking any action. Just so you know. Gwernol 01:13, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for contributing the impressive the pile of supports gathered on my RfA, which passed with a final tally of 0x0104/0x01/0x00. I'm happy that so many people have put faith in my abilities as an admin and promise to use the tools wisely and do my best not to let you down. If I ever may be of assistance, just leave a note on my talk page.

James Cathcart

I just tried to put in an article that was about James Leander Cathcart. You deleted with the stated reason that it was in copyvio. Please explain because I looked for other articles dealing with him and found none.

It looked like it was copied and pasted from somewhere, was it?--Kungfu Adam (talk) 00:08, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

James Cathcart

This is a repeat of another message I just sent you, but I think this is probably the better way to communicate. I wrote the article about James Leander Cathcart on my PC and used the Wikepedia format. This is my first article so if I did it incorrectly please let me know.--71.193.40.103 00:26, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dar es Salaam Airport

Hi. I deleted the Dar airport as its name is now changed as of last year. I explained this in the article's discussion section. Hope you read that. I created the new page for the airport: Mwalimu J.K. Nyerere International Airport. Unfortunately, I didnt get your reason why you reverted my change. Thanks. --alifazal 12:56, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's not how you do it. I moved it for you. It should still be available as a redirect.--Kungfu Adam (talk) 13:02, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I still have a lot to learn in Wikipedia. --alifazal 17:52, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article deleted without discussion

Could you please tell me why the article Flying Matchstick Men was deleted without any discussion? Thanks.

It was proposed for deletion according to WP:PROD.--Kungfu Adam (talk) 17:01, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article you linked to does not really clarify why the article was deleted. Also, how would I contest the deletion?

According to policy, the article was restored and send to Articles for deletion. Now the community can determine its notability. We use proposed deletion because of the massive volume of unencyclopedic articles that are created daily. If the deletion is contested, we use Articles for deletion. Also, please sign your posts.--Kungfu Adam (talk) 17:22, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A Spectre Is Haunting Europe

Hi. Please restore the deleted article on the band A Spectre is Haunting Europe. You deleted it on the grounds of "Notability". The group satisfies the notability requirement for several reasons, not the least of which is that it contains former members of other notable bands (Skinny Puppy, Download, aLUnARED) [1]. If you could restore the article I will gladly edit it to reflect this.

Deletion review for Dennis Allen

Please note I have listed this article for deletion review and welcome your input. -- Longhair 09:16, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for restoring the article. With Wikipedia growing so fast, it's becoming more and more difficult to take matters through the correct procedures. This is my first dabble with Deletion Review. Thanks again, I've learned something today :) -- Longhair 09:34, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lawsuit theat for deletion of article

I noticed you appropriately deleted the article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blossoms_Network. It has been recreated and the owner (the author of the article) is now threatening to "sue in civil court".

I'm not sure what he doesn't understand about Wikipedia not being an advertising space.

Please have a look.

Where is the evidence that the author is threatening to sue?--Kungfu Adam (talk) 14:25, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have dealt with it.--Kungfu Adam (talk) 14:28, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Eluchil404's RfA

Thank you for taking the time to express an opinion in my recent request for adminship. I have withdrawn my self-nomination because there seemed little prospect for further productive discussion or the formation of a consensus to promote. Many commentators offered constructive critisism that I will use to improve myself as a user. Others suggested that the nomination was premature and that a re-nom in a few months would be more likely to gain consensus. Thanks again for your feedback. Simple English

Oi.

Seeking Ithaca Article

sorry to bother, i write to you about the seeking ithaca article.

this band is a real band that has performed live and has recorded and sold copies of its cd. i would like to know if the site could be put back on wikipedia.

It doesn't meet WP:WEB--Kungfu Adam (talk) 20:30, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Aucifer

I don't understand why you deleted this article. Is the band not remarkable, even though it has released 9 singles, 3 albums, 2 live-dvd's, 1 best-of album, all on a big record label, and whose music was used in a popular anime series which was even loosely based on the band and who had a rather big fanbase in Japan? Although, I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that very last part about the anime being loosely based on the band, my mistake! But in any case, I think it deserves to be included in Wikipedia.

Read WP:BAND and tell me how it qualifies according that criteria and I will restore it.--Kungfu Adam (talk) 22:48, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Has had a charted hit on any national music chart, in at least one large or medium-sized country."

According to Oricon, the highest ranking for their debut single was 16 and they were in the charts for 12 weeks. 2nd single, highest ranking 8, 7 weeks. 1st album, highest ranking 6, 8 weeks. 3rd single, highest ranking 11, 7 weeks. 4th single, highest ranking 9, 5 weeks. ....

All their other albums and singles were on the charts as well.

"Has gone on an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one large or medium-sized country,[1] reported in notable and verifiable sources."

The band has been on 6 tours across Japan and they even played a concert in the famous Budokan Arena, but I've no idea if any of this was reported in notable sources..

"Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable)."

They were on Universal/Polygram.

"Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show."

This bands songs were used several times in the opening and ending credits of the anime Kaikan Phrase, and at least 10 songs were used within the series.

Also, the band has been in several music shows as a guest, like Popjam in 2003 and Music Station in 2000.

"Has been the subject of a half hour or longer broadcast on a national radio network."

Aucifer was featured in multiple radio shows, but I'm unaware of their lengths.

C-Tec on deletion review

my RfA

I'm not sure why this was deleted earlier, but again, I was given permission by the Director, Anne Bray, to create this page. Could you please respond to me?

Check WP:CP, you have to assert permission. However, this is blatant advertising, and the article will surely be deleted anyhow.--Kungfu Adam (talk) 19:35, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you trying to delete the LA Freewaves article? This is an ongoing, biennial festival. I am documenting the organization and festivals, what do I have to change to keep it from being deleted? Again, this is not advertising, this is information about what LA Freewaves does. We are not trying to sell anything, all events are free, the website is free, nobody is making money from this except artists.

Why do you insist on trying to get my page deleted? This is neither copyright infringement nor "blatant advertising." Again, we do not make money, we are a nonprofit organization. Advertising only is worth the time if money is to be made, yet I am only providing information on the founder/director, organization, and a list of recent film festivals and artists. What is the problem?

What part of the page do you think is advertisement? You don't have to delete the entire page in order to fix the advertisement issue. This doesn't seem fair to me. Freewaves is 17 years old and has had 9 film festivals with artists from all over the world? Where is the advertisement in that?

I went over the LA Freewaves page and took out any subjective words and rhetoric that could be mistaken for advertising. All information contained within the page are based on factual numbers, dates, and participation of artists. There is no copyright infringement since the organization and director of LA Freewaves have given me direct permission to create a page for the purpose of documenting LA Freewaves. Meaning, wikipedia is not held liable for any legal purposes since I have stated that I received permission. The changes can be seen in the temp page. Could you please tell User:Bigtop to cancel the deletion nomination?--Freewaves 22:03, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The beauty of AFD is that the community decides whether or not the article is kept. We will get a community consensus, and who knows? It could be kept.--Kungfu Adam (talk) 23:52, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think deleting the entry would deprive future generations of a piece of the Los Angeles underground film scene that otherwise would not be recorded except in print and the festival's website.--Freewaves 01:09, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No More

I will no longer be vandalizing Wikipedia or its userpages. I have being doing so for months, mostly because seeing my vandalism or that of others was funny as hell ("User X got swallowed by a Wale" is hilarious, come on) and to punish admins who I felt . My non constructive edits were done out of boredom, especially those containing racial slurs. (I am not racist, in fact I am racially mixed myself) And no, I don't think you had anything going on w/ Francks2000.

I started editing on Wikipedia (specifically the U of L page) mainly out of a 'cold war' that developed betw myself & U of L's marketing director, which escalated after I was featured in the Herald Leader critising his marketing of U of L [2]. I wanted to show President Ramsey how to market the "New U of L" and Wikipedia was my penpad to this end.

My vandalism started after a edit conflict over the Courier Journal's sports and editorial coverage, where my (what I felt were) legitment edits on the page for C-J critism were removed and I was blasted. After another C-J my account was blocked. [3]

Prior to this I had many good edits on KY related pages, which I am proud of. I feel that my work here is now complete and I will only edit in exiting new facts I find out or breaking news. Mark Matson (priest)

Deletion review

I request a deletion review of Mark Matson (priest). Since you closed the deletion discussion for (or speedy-deleted) this article, your reasons on how or why you did so will be greatly appreciated in the above review.

I am the author of the subject article and did contest the speedy deletion of the article "Mark Matson (priest)" on its talk page. I did not have the opportunity to review your response to my contentions. As such, I believe that your deletion of this article is arbitrary and capricious I provided you with reasons as to why the article should not be deleted. If the standard by which you deleted the article was equally applied to all such articles dealing with priestly sexual abuse in the Roman Catholic Church (and there are many), all such articles should have been deleted. But they were not. I appeal your arbitrary and capricious action to Wikipedia. Aloysius Patacsil 10:19, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
