Rachel Corrie
Appearance
Rachel Corrie (? - March 16, 2003), an American college student, was a member of the International Solidarity Movement protesting Israeli action in the Israel-Palestinian conflict. She was killed by an Israeli bulldozer in Rafah, Gaza, and was the first foreign protested to die in Israel in the past 29 months.
According to fellow ISM activists, Corrie was wearing a bright red coat and had climbed onto the blade of the bulldozer to better shout at the driver through her loudspeaker. When she slipped off the blade she fell beneath the bulldozer and was dragged 10-15 meters. Later, as a group of people gathered, a man was shot and killed by the Israel Defence Forces.
Corrie was a senior at Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington.
