The Australian white ibis (Threskiornis molucca) is a wading bird of the ibis family, Threskiornithidae. It is widespread across much of Australia, and has a predominantly white plumage with a bare, black head, long downcurved bill, and black legs. While it is closely related to the African sacred ibis, the Australian white ibis is a native Australian bird. Due to its increasing presence in the urban environment and its habit of rummaging in garbage, the species has acquired a variety of colloquial names such as "tip turkey" and "bin chicken". This Australian white ibis was photographed at the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney.Photograph credit: Charles J. Sharp

Unfortunate event
Yes, I have looked over it well. I had already stated, though, that I was not the contributor of the vandalism, so it was unnecessary to revert the page. It turns out that my friend, 07p71, has the same IP address and found my password, and thus vandalised under my name -.- Thank you anyway, though, for your concern. -Coveritus —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Coveritus (talk • contribs) 19:55, October 5, 2006 (UTC)

You misinterpreted what I said. I was not complaining that I was blocked - I would rather have this school IP blocked than unblocked, as my school is not at all good at not breaking rules. What I was complaining about is that the blocked was increased with no notification; I actually had to go look at the block log to see why I was still blocked. I put up a {{unblock}} message, not to get unblocked (I know I probably broke a dozen rules) but to ask why there was no notification. I probably should have been more clear; my bad :(. Please reinstate the block though, for the remainder of the one month.GofG ||| Contribs 14:00, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, sure. It's quite difficult to code for admins without being able to see what they see, both in visual terms and in the HTML, but I should be able to do it. Thanks for pointing it out. (If only an admin would give me their password one of these days!) haz (talk) e 15:06, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

You seemed to me (in the past) a person with real possibilities. Now I wonder as I watch, now that I am no longer willing to put forth any of the hard work way I did before, how you really feel. Personal attacks
My post was not a personal attack and I assure you that if you had contacted User: Madhatte prior to accusing me of such you would have found that out. The phrase "Homus Meganogginus" is a widely known term on board the USS Theodore Roosevelt. I appoligize if, as a civilian, you have never heard of this term. It is used to refer to this particular individual's rather unique condition. He is well aware of this and certainly does not take it as any type of "attack". -- User: Trassin 06:23, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- Regardless of whether Homus Meganogginus was a personal attack or not, please do not make such vanity or joke articles to Wikipedia in future since you're wasting our time having to clean up after you. - Cheers for that, I'm trying to create a page to reduce the size of WP:UTM using templates to reflect what is shown on WP:TT. Looking through alot of the templates there are inconsistancies. I re-worked a couple, but soon realised that without a comprehensive page, it would never be harmonised. But 1 page is just too big for it all hence my grand plan ;). Just thought I'd explain in case you thought I was up to any ol' mischief. Anyway how can I get round that warning or should I just nowiki it until I'm prepared to unveil it or it goes live? - That's probably what I meant, then. Blocking only anonymous dits from an IP - if a registered user edits from a blocked IP, they can get through. With a 4-day, 20 legit namespace edits saferty margin, of course. Oh well, thanks. — Vanderdecken∴ ∫ ξ φ 19:49, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
User:Gerard Doyle unblock
Thanks for this. I know the way he's editing has pushed a lot of people's sock-warning buttons, but I am hopeful that he turns out to be a good editor and learns from his mistakes. Georgewilliamherbert 21:32, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- I would be amazed were that to be the case. I am convinced now that this user is Bridgman, and while he occassionally writes reasonable edits, he also takes every opportunity to push his own view of PD pathology, which viewpoint is designed to show that his invention, viz. dopavite, should work. Even given that, he was banned principally because of his bellicosity, verbal violence, and bigotry toward anyone who expresses opinions differing from his own. To my mind, this obviates anything of scientific value he might say. --Dan 17:48, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Protected pages
Hey. I wanted to upload two images for My Chemical Romance singles but when I clicked on the "nocover.gif" image, it came up with "This high-risk template has been protected from editing to prevent vandalism. Please discuss changes on the talk page. You may use {{editprotected}} on the talk page to ask for an administrator to make an edit for you.". So I placed the editprotected template on the discussion pages. Obviously I did something stupid, lol. I'm new to editing Wiki, so sorry about any cockups. Tibia: Ragone and Pixo
You once added to the Tibia page:
- Ragone - The blossoming town of Ragone was dedicated to the fearless leader of the great Boondock Saints during the ancient years of Tibia during their battles against the valient monkeys. During a violent overthrow the town was taken back by the original founders, in the battle known as "The Battle at Aew Mountain" in which many men lost their lives. The town contains many mysterious monsters and creatures that have only been seen by a select few. The brave men who dared to explore into the deep parts of the town escaped with the great riches many men dream about. Smaller villages on the outlying parts of town are in memory of the two famous generals lost in battle: Pixo and Achilles.
- Pixo - A small village on the outskirts of Ragone dedicated to General Pixo. Only those who have completed the " Treasure of Aew Mountain " quest are allowed to enter. The village of Pixo is prone to multiple raids each day and free items spawning near the depot. The favorite town of most players.
What the bleep is this all about? I never heard of these cities! Could you explain please? — The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.11.172.128 (talk • contribs) 17:30, October 13, 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, I never added such text. I may have reverted the removal of such text after mistaking it for vandalsim since I don't actually play this game. Hi. You unblocked Doyle, but I (and others) strongly believe that he is General Tojo, based both on the topics he edits and his agressive stype. See for example Wikipedia:Personal attack intervention noticeboard, where he added Paul Wicks, and falsely claims that Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/General Tojo 2 proves that he is not GT. University midterm usernames?
I gather you're aware of the 1101name06 trend we ran into, over the weekend. I've heard from one or two via email, and I think I've seen at least one unblock request, all claiming to be with some university midterm project, something along the lines of starting and maintaining an article for a week, for a journalism class. I'm inclined to believe them, I think, although I haven't heard anything from a university address. I'm a bit nervous about a bunch of brand new users with an assignment to make a page (and possibly keep us from deleting it?), but I s'pose that wouldn't be much different from standard operating procedure. Leaning towards unblocking, but figured it wouldn't hurt to get a second opinion. Thoughts? Luna Santin 01:28, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Question
Can you protect my user page from User:Ekajati who replaced the sockpuppet template three times today? Today is the first time I removed it, but I looked through all the rules and I don't see anywhere stated the template must remain forever because of a less-than-24-hour ban a while and many edits ago. Mattisse (talk) 22:54, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- Considering that Mattisse is still sockpuppeting with Timmy12 and MaxReg, I'd suggest that the puppetmaster tag remain - 18 sockpuppets is a history. Ekajati (yakity-yak) 22:59, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Can they accuss me of being a sockpuppet like Timmy12 without using CheckUser first? Aren't there rules? That was an administrator that did that. I don't understand. Mattisse (talk) 00:04, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

- See Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Mattisse (3rd); note that at least one univolved editor does not see a sockpuppet relationship. Please do not accuse people of being a sockpuppet unless you have substantial and credible evidence, prefereably in the form of a CheckUser. Guy 15:39, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
- The CheckUser thing was just used September 21. I didn't know about it at the time as no one notified me. I got this off User:Timmy12's talk page:
- Also, can you remove the sockpuppet template from Talk:Maratha clan system where it was put each time I made a comment -- to discredit me I guess? This has been going on and I have not said anything about this harassment. But I cannot handle it any longer without help. Mattisse (talk) 15:45, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Plus, see yesterday's discussion: Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Puppetmaster_Mattisse_repeatedly_removing_puppetmaster_tag.
- Plus my pathetic addition: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#I_have_am_extra_complaint.. (At least I am getting the hang of constructing these links.) Please tell me who to go to for help. This is only a small part of what has been happening. Is there not someone I can go to for help? Mattisse (talk) 16:17, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
So nothing of help to me has happened. As I stated above, it was referred to checkuser on September 20 and was cleared. So does this mean that I should move on to other avenues of help (of my own random choosing, since you have suggested none). Just tell me outright if that is the case. I would much appreciate the true. Thanks! Mattisse (talk) 03:09, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- You've raised it at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents which is the correct thing to do. By the way, I am NOT your personal advocate and do not wish to be since I have not yet gotten over your previous breach of trust quite just yet. You're also been around long enough to handle yourself now. -- Netsnipe ► 05:57, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- I apologize. I am sorry. I will bring the the sockpuppet template on Talk:Maratha clan system problem on the Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents as you suggest. I have never brought up anything on it -- only replied to things brought up there about me -- so I am not clear about what types of things to bring up there. So thanks for suggesting I bring up the sockpuppet template on Talk:Maratha clan system issue on the Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. Again, sorry. The issue I have here is that username policy says it isn't allowed if it *could* be considered offensive and obviously there are some people who already have been offended by that. Good intent doesn't matter here, you can pick "faggot" for a username and claim it was done in good intent and is referring to a bundle of sticks, but that doesn't make it an appropriate username choice. Though i still think this is a sock, I'd be willing to assume good faith and lift the block if the user changes his name. Thet would then end any type of suspicion that the username is racist and hopefully put the whole issue to bed. pschemp | talk 01:56, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

External link editing
Hi, responded here to your message:
I can understand why this would flag up since it's external links, but correcting broken links added by other users after a site update ought not to be classed as "spamming", and that was the majority of my activity. I added some more links to articles whilst browsing, but most of libcom.org's content cannot be found elsewhere on-line and deals with very specialist subjects - i.e. linking stubs to much longer articles on the subject etc. which I believe is well within wikipedia's policies. The prison one you mentioned might have been me getting carried away though ;) Having said that, I don't remember which article, but in at least one case I removed duplicate links to content with different titles - again it seems an inappropriate course of action considering the nature of the edits Catch 17:40, 20 October 2006 (UTC) Catch 17:35, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

I'll repeat I do not think the updating of external links added by other users warrants any kind of reversion, and I'm very disappointed that the time I spent correcting those links has been wasted, with the links re-broken, due to what appears to be over-zealous editing.

Scruffy
Hi there; I am the editor who had the to and fro communication about scruffy the dog. While I retract nothing that I said, isn't a permanent block on the editor User:Tenchwood Pie a bit harsh?--Anthony.bradbury 19:55, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- My mistake, I was assuming that Tenchwood Pie (talk • contribs) had already been indefinitely blocked. But judging from the responses so far, he/she is well on his/her way to one. -- Netsnipe ► 05:29, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- I have re-visited this user's talk page. Any sympathy I had has now evaporated. You might like, if you have not done so, to visit his page and decide if a permanent block is, in fact, appropriate. I think it might be.--Anthony.bradbury 11:12, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
Floyd Landis
The external link that you deleted from the Floyd Landis page does not point to a commercial site but rather points to a blog. The blog contains discussions of and references to other discussions of technical and regulatory details of the drug testing in Floyd Landis' case. The blog is authored by an individual with extensive professional experience in both toxicology and US Federal and international regulations for testing standards. Content in the cited blog makes *heavy* use of peer reviewed literature. I am not certain how you construed the blog as a "commercial link" or "advertising."
I'm also not clear on the restriction of "your own private websites" as you say. Private, as opposed to public? I would think that any web site visible to the public is public; certainly the server settings would show (r--). And what about your phrase, "your own"? How this murky ownership standard that you invoke might work is simply unclear. For example, if a NYT shareholder posted a link to an informative NYT article, would it violate this "your own" principle? I've not seen such an official Wikipedia policy on the relevance of link ownership to constribution. The ambiguous wording of it leads me to doubt its credibility.
I feel your edit was perhaps in the right spirit in some respect but ultimately a little bit overaggressive. I think your deletion invokes Wikipedia rules that simply do not exist. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Textminer (talk • contribs) 21:33, October 20, 2006 (UTC)
- I assume you're talking about this edit where I removed a link to http://freefloydlandis.blogspot.com. I removed it because the link was not being cited as an article reference, but it was posted under the External Links section of the article in order to promote an non-neutral advocacy site which is discouraged under the Wikipedia:External links guidelines. I regret any confusion on your part for using a stock-standard warning instead of clarifying my reasons to you more personally. -- Netsnipe ► 05:44, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Block on 213.42.21.81
Hi Thule, per this unblock-en-l email, I've unblocked 213.42.21.81 (talk • contribs • WHOIS • block user • [block log]) for the time being. From my experience, it seems like Emirates Telecommunications is a bit of a problematic ISP since they apparently use multiple load balancing proxy servers. -- Netsnipe ► 06:55, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- It doesn't seem to be visible from the block log, but I think the block I placed was an "IP-only, not accounts or account creation" block. I think this is appropriate for a proxy server, and I suggest a reblock, perhaps with a more appropriate block comment :). I can't read the email you reference, the archive requires a password. Thue | talk 11:06, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Subscribe at http://mail.wikipedia.org/mailman/listinfo/unblock-en-l and disable mail delivery if you want archive access only. If you're going to reblock, I suggest short soft-blocks only. The entire UAE is routed through those proxies for government censorship. See Etisalat. -- Netsnipe ► 14:45, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
Netsnipe, you posted this on GrandWizard's talk page: Tell us what account name you want to change to and we'll forward the request to Wikipedia:Changing usernames and once that's taken care of, you'll be unblocked. GrandWizard was blocked as a suspected sockpuppet of User:Mykungfu [1], not because of his username. Why would he qualify for an unblock? Thanks. | Mr. Darcy talk 14:12, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply. GrandWizard showed up on Sigma Pi Phi, one of Mykungfu's other targets under his own ID, under the sock ID User:ManOfTke, and under various AOL IPs. The last 100 edits to that article are littered with edits by Mykungfu and his socks. The similarities to MKF are too strong for me to believe that this isn't another sock. If somewhere, MKF would acknowledge that his behavior was wrong and would agree to stop his sockpuppetry/edit-warring/abuse of policies, I'd be fine with unblocking the master account. But I haven't seen any evidence of remorse or a willingness to change. | Mr. Darcy talk 19:59, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

I award you the Working Man's Barnstar for all your tireless work on users in CAT:RFU (requests for unblock). You exemplify the tact and dedication required to do this over-repetitive task successfully, yet retain the ability to not spark up a tense situation (as RFU's sometimes are) with your dedication to remaining civil and cool under pressure. A very Californian RfA thanks from Luna Santin
Thanks for your support in my not-so-recent RfA, which succeeded with a final tally of (97/4/4)! I've never been able to accept compliments gracefully, and the heavy support from this outstanding community left me at a complete loss for words -- so, a very belated thank you for all of your kind words.
I have done and will continue to do the utmost to serve the community in this new capacity, wherever it may take me, and to set an example others might wish to follow in. With a little luck and a lot of advice, this may be enough. Maybe someday the enwiki admins of the future will look back and say, "Yeah, that guy was an admin." Hopefully then they don't start talking about the explosive ArbComm case I got tied into and oh what a drama that was, but we'll see, won't we? Surely some of you have seen me in action by now; with that in mind, I openly invite and welcome any feedback here or here -- help me become the best editor and sysop I can be.

- Here's hoping you clear up schoolwork. Between that and work, I'm gonna be having a busy winter. x.x I'm sure we'll be seeing you in the future -- almost counting on it. Luna Santin 19:15, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for getting rid of that link for me. I was unaware of that "law" that was imposed. I will have to look into it later as it seems slightly ridiculous, from what I've seen of it so far. --Lord Deskana (talk) 10:49, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Would humbly request that these pages be undeleted. The content posted to them, which was in the process of being updated, is as relevant, IMO, as that of Packet8, SunRocket, et al. In that the CEO of both companies was Mr. Hitchens, we feel is no more an issue than Sir Richard Branson being a key figure of both Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Mobile. Both sites will have additional information of a more informational basis added to them if they are undeleted. We have already posted a "hangon" post to both pages. Respectfully request a speedy resolution to this matter. Sincerely.. Highlander56 16:01, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Highlander56
- An editor has asked for a deletion review of SkyNET Telesystems and CyberDyne IP Systems. Since you closed the deletion discussion for (or speedy-deleted) this article, your reasons on how or why you did so will be greatly appreciated in the above review. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Highlander56 (talk • contribs) 21:17, October 24, 2006 (UTC)
Netsnipe, a question. If we were to repost the articles with the needed 3rd party data you spoke of, would it be allowed? Or, would we be blocked from here on out? Should I post a "here's what we propose to post" posting here, or at the SkyNET wiki page? Help would be appreciated. Thanks, Highlander56 — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Highlander56 (talk • contribs) 20:56, October 25, 2006 (UTC)
- Feel free to repost, you will not be blocked since you have made an attempt at asserting notability. I do highly recommend that in any rewrite, that you try to avoid promoting the features of any specific products (unless you can assert their notability individually), and concentrate on documenting the company itself or your articles may be nominated for deletion. Thanks. -- Netsnipe ► 21:01, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
NetSnipe, I have reposted the SkyNET Telesystems page. This time, I hope it contains what will be accepted as far more notable and informative data. I have made sure that the direct information regarding SkyNET is what would seem to be of a less than advertising nature. I must add though, that pages such as those of Packet8, and others seem quite advertising in nature. Please look over the page and if you feel it needs "massaging" please let me know. I will make updates, if necessary. Kind regards. Highlander56 15:49, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Packet8 is now tagged for deletion. OK, you're still making the mistake as before, you're concentrating on your products and not the company. For example, you're reexplaining how VoIP works and its advantages, when such information is already covered in the VoIP article itself. Take a look at AT&T, Qwest and Verizon Communications are written. You're still not providing 3rd party references to assert notability. Your link to the FCC adds no value to the article as a reference on your company. Are there any newspaper or magazine articles that you can link to which document how your company has developed? PS: Please don't create a new section on my talk page for each question/message – just edit the pre-existing section. Thanks. -- Netsnipe ► 16:17, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Is there someway to just have the page suspended or such for now, instead of being deleted? If the links to newspaper or magazine articles were included, would the rest of the page be able to stand on it's own merits, or does it still need a re-write? Highlander56 16:26, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- I've undeleted your articles to your personal space at User:Highlander56/SkyNET Telesystems and [[ User:Highlander56/CyberDyne IP Systems so you can continue to improve them there. Once up to standard, you can move it back out to the main encyclopedia. Once you include the links to newspaper or magazine articles and remove the duplicated information that is already covered in VoIP, then the background information on your company can stand. I must also commend you for being so patient and understanding in trying to improve your article. -- Netsnipe ► 16:33, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Many thanks for that. I do appreciate it and I am flattered by the comment, thanks. I was about to post a redo of the CyberDyne page also, but, after reading your messages and seeing the speedy deletion notice on SkyNET, I decided not to post it. I'll continue to try to play nice with others. Highlander56 16:43, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

User:Kyereh Mireku, new sockpuppet
User:Kyereh Mireku is continuing to use sockpuppets to avoid his block. You had extended his block for using User:Mr. Jonathan Kyereh Mireku as a block-avoiding sockpuppet. He created User:[email protected] back on 11 April 2006, and has used the account on and off. He just resurrected the use of the account today and used it to vandalize my userpage — adding a {{test}} template. I've reverted it and have since blocked [email protected] as a sockpuppet.
Since you've dealt with the User:Kyereh Mireku account, would you take a look and consider whether this should be an indefinite block/community ban?
Comment: If you will note [email protected]'s contributions today, you will see that he has requested adminship.

Hi there,
Sorry to take up some of your time, but i do have queries. (yes i know there's lots of faqs, i tried reading parts of them...messy! hehe)
Ok basically im new here, me and my friends are trying to put up an article which would contribute to "urban exploration" in our country (Singapore). Actually, my friend did started something, but met with lots of deletion attempts(?). Me as a member of this exploration group in Singapore, would like to help maintain the articles Singapore Urban Explorers and affiliated article Asia Paranormal Investigators
Im still woozy over reading the faqs in order to save the article, at the same time i would like to seek more 'direct' advice on how to go about in this situation. I'm refraining from editing the article or deleting any part of it, for the time being. (definitely some parts needs to be changed)
Things like do i need to put more photos? More info? or anything that we missed out?
Frankly, thanks for the time, if you do help me out here with some kind advice. Thank you so much. =) — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ah 9 (talk • contribs) 18:10, October 25, 2006 (UTC)

Yes its true I took it right from the website its because I wrote the website and its easier for me to copy and paste my own words then to re-type everything. I'm a little frusterated because the directions are not very clear. Thanks for all the help.

Re:SharedIPEDU blocking
I can't say I can remember that blocking specifically. I can only assume that I meant to block for a short period and accidentally clicked on block without having changed the option in the drop down list. I would never deliberately indef block an IP, and my block summary of 'vandalism' is what I usually use for blocks of 24 hours or less. Thanks for fixing it now. Cheers, Petros471 15:13, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- I also notice that I used a temporary block notice on the IP's talk page, not an indef block one, so I'm sure that I just clicked on the wrong thing on the block screen rather than meaning to indef! Petros471 15:15, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Listen to what I have to say
I was blocked because I insulted a fellow wikipedian in a moment of rage. If Ryulong had answered to my question, I wouldn't have had insulted him. I was even more angry because he is Jewish, and him deleting my messages probably had to do with the content of the messages. Another fellow Wikipedian was explaining to me in these messages how she was racially Jewish but Shiite muslim in practice, like her father. I was angry, because I was interested in what the girl had to say. Again, I apologize for what I said. I tried to apologize to Ryulong but he didn't answer yet to the email I sent. I didn't block Fingmister (talk • contribs • page moves • block user • block log). Samir (The Scope) did, I only declined your original unblock request. If you want to edit Wikipedia again, go back to your original account, apologize via email to everyone you've personally attacked and if they accept that you've been sincere about it, someone else may take your second unblock request a bit more seriously. -- Netsnipe ► 12:39, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
Crud3w4re
Hi, I believe you have previously blocked Crud3w4re and thought you might like to know that s/he has been blanking their own talk page thereby removing various warnings, etc., and providing Allowed to blank outdated news as an edit summary. I don't recall anyone being allowed to blank warnings from their talk page, especially warnings that date back just over a month. I received this message on my own talk page when I reverted one of these blanking incidents. If I'm in error, please let me know. Thanks. Pinkville 12:25, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
- There's currently no clear consensus on how long warnings must remain on a talk page, but I'd wouldn't escalate the situation further considering that Crud3w4re has already been blocked for the warnings he's just removed. An admin will always check his block log and take that into account if he needs to be blocked again. -- Netsnipe ► 12:45, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
That makes sense. thanks for looking into this. Pinkville 14:53, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Abuse of admin rights
Hi Netsnipe, just wondering if you could have a look at version of my userpage. I had yesterday at 14:48 uploaded this image to go with the article on Aishwarya Rai and at 14:55 uploaded this image to go with the article on Amitav Ghosh and had logged out. I returned three hours later to find that Yamla had blocked me claiming that I had deliberately violated wikipedia's first use criteria repeatedly'' (I had not made any edits since I logged out after uploading the image on Amitav Ghosh, nor I had a chance to look at the messages Yamla had left on my talk page .The messages themselves seemed to be hagulatory and totally inappropriately blaming me for having knowingly violated wikipedia's policies and stated that he assumed that I was acting in bad fiath). This was the second time I had been unfairly (I think) blocked by an administrator. I put in an unblock request in my talk page where I admit I was quite agitated. However Yamla himself responded to the unblock request. He stated that he had blocked me due to miscalculations based on the change in time wihtou explaining what this meant (the time had been changed for a week now I believe). Also, I had uploaded the images an hour or so he had left the messages on my talk page. He did not apologise, and insisted that I had indeed tried to violate wikipedia policies deliberately. He said he would unblock me if I removed personal attacks from the unblock request. Incensed at this refusal to admit fault, I refused and said I am leaving wikipedia (which I am doing). Following this, Yamla deleted the contents of my talk page and edit protected it to prevent me from making any further changes claiming that I was leaving personal attacks on the last version I saved. He also marked my username as an abusive sock-puppet of a previous username, Ranam, which I had used when I first started in wikipedia. (I had changed my usernamein when I had become familiar with editing wikipedia) Neither of these had been used in an abuse manner and I think I have made significant contributions in both usernames. While I admittedly over reacted, tw things stand out. Yamla assumed that I had deliberately tried to violate wikipeda policies in violation of wikipedia's WP:AGF from the start. He did not attempt mediation anywhere and enforced his presumed views on me (and I have absolutely no idea what indicated I had set out with the intention to vilate wikipedia's sanctity), he outright went on to block not just me, but my entire university portal, which I believe violates wikipedia's wikiness. All these I believe are in violation of not just the last two of the Five pillars of wikipedia policies (especially from an admin), but also proves that Yamla him(or her)self acted allthroughout in bad faith, especially since, instead of reverting my talk page to the older version he had deleted the contents, and also the fact that he had marked the two usernames I had used as abusive when they had never been used either abuse nor to avoid a ban and is thus a falsification. I also think He had not read or understood the blocking policy and acted essentially to prove his capacity. Please have a look at this. I possibly will not come back, for s while at least, but this is the second time in less than a month that I had encountered admins who make errors, refuse to apologise, and then enforce their own views on other editors in what I can only assume as show of force. I will I hope this does not get deleted before you get to read it.
I have apoligied Yamla over my outburst, but have not heard from him yet, and I do not wish to prove a point here till I hear any response, but I do think admins at least in some cases act in arbitrary manner for self satisfaction more than wikipedia's sanctity. Please consider that maybe admins have got rights that need to be controlled, especially blocking process needs to be more regulated than it is now, (which currently is possibly not good for wikipedia's improvement). I personally have been put off making edits in the middle of brainwaves by Zoe while writing the Jaffna University Helidrop (when I asked for intervention), and the article has not been improved beyond B.Rueben lys 22:20, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

Wow - an IT admin responsive to abuse complaints!
I have never seen a notice like that on the talk page for 129.94.6.28 (talk · contribs) offering to follow up on any UNSW vandalism. I so appreciate that. I was on that page because there was a petty incident today -- a test0 sort of edit that the user reverted after 4 minutes -- and I'm not sure it merits your time [3] [4] if this is a shared IP (if not, the user has a long history of warnings). Primarily, I wanted to thank you for performing this service for both Wikipedia and UNSW. --A. B. 12:53, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- Probably not. I'll only get the university involved if it involves threats or abusive sockpuppetry. -- Netsnipe ► 15:24, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
Jaber
I had completely forgotten about the guy until I was sent an email from him. If he wants to contribute, let him. I thought I had given him an explanation as to why I removed the sock's messages, but it appears he never got it.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:56, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Google Web Accelerator block
Hi. You just recently blocked my account and said that I should disable Google Web Accelerator in order to edit again. I'm happy to do that -- in fact I obviously already have -- but I would like to know why this is necessary, since Google Web Accelerator really does speed up many sites, including Wikipedia. --Robert 23:11, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Thanks
