A venture client is a company that purchases and uses the product of a startup.[1][2] The difference between a “normal” client and a venture client is that the startup product presents a high risk of failing.[2][3][4] The venture client company accepts the additional risk because the startup product solves a relevant problem better than alternative solutions.[4][5][6][7]
Notable companies using the venture client approach are BMW Group (BMW Startup Garage), BSH Hausgeräte (BSH Startup Kitchen), LafargeHolcim (LH Startup MAQER) and Bosch Group (Open Bosch).[8][9][10][11][12][13][14]
