Abdullah Akbar (born 1945) was a footballer who represented the Pakistan national football team during the late 1960s. He is remembered for his performances and dribbling.[1]

Early life

Akbar was born in 1945, in Karachi, British India.[1]

Club career

Abdullah started playing for KMC in 1963.[1] In 1964 He joined Victoria SC, He helped them win the First Division League in 1964, and runners-up in 1965, Before joining EPIDC playing alongside his brother Ali Nawaz Baloch.[2] He helped the club win First Division League in 1967, 1968, 1970.

International career

Akbar started representing the Pakistan national football team at the 1967 RCD Cup. He also played for Pakistan in the 1969 RCD Cup where scored against Iran in a 2–4 defeat in the 1969 RCD Cup.[3][4] He was also present at the 1968 AFC Asian Cup qualification.

Playing style

Abdullah was a speedy and crafty dribbler, his dribbling style was crisp and short.[1]

Personal life

Akbar played alongside his brother Ali Nawaz Baloch in the Pakistan national football team and also in EPIDC. He also had another elder brother, Ismail Roshoon, who represented the national team in the 1950s.[1]
