Abu Fanous
The Abu Fanous (also known as Abu Siraj and Abu Nuweira)[1] is a mysterious light phenomenon observed in Saudi Arabian deserts.[2]

[edit]In the Islamic belief, The Abu Fanous is a jinn that tricks tourists in the deserts into following him, using his lantern, leading them off course in the desert.[2]

[edit]The phenomenon was depicted as a painting in 2023 by Saudi artist Aziz Jamal. It conveys its effect using eyes appearing in the darkness.[1]
