The stadium opened in 1871, and it underwent extensive renovation (redevelopment) between 2012 and 2014. Adelaide Oval has always been used primarily for cricket, and it is the headquarters of the South Australian Cricket Association. It staged its first Test match in December 1884. The stadium has hosted other sports too, especially Australian rules football, and it is also a popular concert venue. Its record attendance is 70,000 for a concert by Adele in 2017.[1]
