Aju Mathew is a U.S. Board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist practicing in Kochi, India. He is known for his contributions to cancer research, which have been acknowledged by leading institutions such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). His scientific work has been featured in several high-impact, peer-reviewed medical Journals.[1]
Mathew received his medical degree from the Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, affiliated with the University of Kerala. He has over a decade of clinical experience in oncology and currently serves as a Consultant at Ernakulam Medical Centre and MOSC Medical College in Kerala. He is also the Director of Kerala Cancer Care, a center focused on comprehensive cancer treatment and research.[2][3][4]
Education
[edit]Aju Mathew began his medical education at the Medical College Thiruvananthapuram in India, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery [(MBBS)] degree.He then pursued further academic advancement at the University of Cambridge, UK, where he obtained a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Epidemiology.[5] Mathew completed his residency in Internal Medicine (equivalent to an MD in the US) and a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology (equivalent to a DM in the US) at the University of Pittsburgh in the United States[6]
During his fellowship, he served as Chief Fellow. He is American Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology and holds a Fellowship in the American College of Physicians[6] ′
Teaching
[edit]Educating future healthcare professionals is a significant aspect of Dr. Mathew's career. He has taught and mentored medical students, residents, and fellows at various institutions, including the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Kentucky, Manipal University, and MOSC Medical College. His teaching roles have included course coordination, delivering lectures, and serving as a preceptor and advisor.[3]

[edit]Dr. Aju Mathew's career has spanned both the United States and India. He has held academic appointments at the University of Kentucky and currently serves as adjunct faculty at University. His current roles in India include serving as a Consultant at Ernakulam Medical Centre and MOSC Medical College and as the Director of Kerala Cancer Care. He is dedicated to providing compassionate patient care, advancing cancer research, and educating future healthcare professionals.[6][7]
