Alexander Robert Hirsch (born June 18, 1985) is an American animator, writer, producer, and voice actor. He was born in the city of Piedmont, California, USA. He got his education in the California Institute of the Arts (BFA). He got famous due to his animated series Gravity Falls, in which he voiced Grunkle Stan, Soos Ramirez, and Bill Cipher, etc. The show won several trophies such as: BAFTA and Annie.

In 2016, Hirsch co-authored the Gravity Falls: Journal 3, which was issued as a No.1 New York Times Best Seller, and stayed on The New York Times Best Seller list for 47 days. In 2016, he made a comic called Gravity Falls: Lost Legends, which also appeared on The New York Times Best Seller list. In 2024, he wrote the Book of Bill, which appeared on Amazon and The New York Times Best Seller List.
