Animal Friends is an upcoming American live action animated road film directed by Peter Atencio, and written by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider. The film stars Ryan Reynolds, Jason Momoa, Vince Vaughn, Eric André, Addison Rae, Ellie Bamber, Rob Delaney, Lil Rel Howery, Joaquim De Almeida, Dan Levy, Jimmy Tatro, Travis Kelce, Peter Atencio and Aubrey Plaza.

The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on October 10, 2025, by Warner Bros. Pictures.

The project was announced in April 2023, with Ryan Reynolds, Jason Momoa, Vince Vaughn and Aubrey Plaza announced to star, and Peter Atencio set to direct.[1] Addison Rae would join the cast the following month.[2] Dan Levy joined the cast in February 2024.[3] Lil Rel Howery, Ellie Bamber, Joaquim De Almeida, Eric André, Jimmy Tatro, Travis Kelce and Atencio himself would join the cast in the following months.[4][5][6][7][8] In March 2025, Rob Delaney joined the cast.[9]

DNEG announced the film had entered production in June 2023.[10] One of the filming locations included Bulgaria.[11] Filming wrapped on April 17, 2024.[12]

Release

Originally scheduled to be released in the United States on August 15, 2025 by Sony Pictures Releasing under Columbia Pictures, it was later announced on December 9, 2024 that distribution rights had shifted to Warner Bros. Pictures, which scheduled the film for a theatrical release on October 10, 2025.[13][14]
