Asuny [aˈsunɨ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Barciany, within Kętrzyn County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland, close to the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia.[1] It lies approximately 12 kilometres (7 mi) north of Barciany, 27 km (17 mi) north of Kętrzyn, and 84 km (52 mi) north-east of the regional capital Olsztyn.
History

The village was inhabited by Polish people since the 15th century.[2] In 1481, Polish priest Jakub de Coszmi from the Diocese of Płock was appointed the parish priest.[2] As of 1664, Polish church services were held in the local church.[2]
