Baand

Baand is an upcoming Kashmiri-language feature film directed by Ali Emran and produced by Yaqout Mushtaq under the banner of Hot Ice. Scheduled for release in the first week of August 2025, the film is distributed by Chinaar Mediaworks. Synopsis

Set in a Kashmiri village navigating the edge of modernization, Baand follows the emotional and artistic journey of Gani Bhagat, a devoted Baand artist, and his son Akhtar. Gani has dedicated his life to preserving the folk theatre tradition, while Akhtar struggles to find his own identity—torn between following in his father’s footsteps or embracing a different future. Through music, memory, and performance, the film explores how art and identity evolve through generations.
