Blonde Death is a 1984 American shot-on-video (SOV) feature film written and directed by James Robert Baker. The film stars Sara Lee Wade as protagonist Tammy, a teenage girl who takes part in an Orange County crime spree. Produced by Los Angeles art collective EZTV, Bleeding Skull has listed Blonde Death as the greatest shot-on-video film ever made.[1]

Plot

[edit]

Eighteen year-old Tammy Lynn Beaverdorf (Sara Lee Wade) moves from Mississippi to California's Orange County in the company of her father, Vern (Dave Shuey), and scheming stepmother Clorette (Linda Miller). Vern and Clorette are strict conservative Christians who berate and spank Tammy as punishment for her coarse language and liberal approach to sex.

After Vern leaves for a three-week job in Saudi Arabia, Tammy is left alone with Clorette. Tammy escapes and meets Gwen (Anne Kern), a one-eyed lesbian who aggressively flirts with Tammy. The two become friends. When Tammy returns home, she finds that Clorette has left for the weekend, and celebrates by herself. Tammy is then taken hostage by Link (Jack Catalano), a prison escapee who breaks into her house. The two discover that Clorette has left poisoned items around the house in an effort to murder Tammy and Vern. Tammy frees herself from her bonds and initiates a sexual relationship with Link. The two fall in love.

When Clorette returns, Link and Tammy murder her secret lover, Burt (Clair Peterson), and leave Clorette bound and gagged in the garage. After Tammy and Link spend a blissful week together, Tammy accompanies Gwen on a trip to meet the latter's ex-husband. While Tammy is out of the house, Link's old cellmate Troy (Scott Ingram), breaks into the house and reminisces with Link. Gwen gouges out her ex-husband's eye in an act of vengeance. Tammy returns to her home and finds Troy preparing to engage in anal intercourse with Link. Shocked, she flees. Troy knocks Gwen out after she tries to cut off his penis with shears.

Gwen awakes and takes a Tylenol pill that Clorette had previously laced with cyanide. Gwen dies. Troy and Link track Tammy, finding her preparing to shoot herself on a local beach. They prevent her suicide, but a stray round kills jogging entertainer Pat Goon (a parody of conservative singer Pat Boone). Troy and Link explain that they are both bisexual, reassuring Tammy. Troy, Link and Timmy agree to form a threesome. Vern returns from Saudi Arabia a week early, having been expelled from the counbtry for urinating on a mosque. He discovers Clorette, still bound and gagged in the garage of his Orange county home. Troy, Link and Tammy return to the house and inadvertently murder Vern and Clorette with exhaust fumes from their car.

The threesome take amphetamines and decide to rob a money-collector at Dumkeyland (a parody of Disneyland) before splitting for a new life in Mexico. The robbery is botched when the money-collector reveals himself to be armed. Link kills him and takes the money. The threesome retreat to their home and have sex, discovering afterwards that Troy has poured a pitcher of poisoned tang into Dumkeyland's syrup and water supply, murdering hundreds of people across the park. A SWAT team converges on the house, killing Troy and forcing Tammy and Link to flee without the stolen money.

After murdering a disturbed Vietnam War veteran, Tammy and Link occupy his home. After being spotted by cops while buying food, Link returns to the safehouse and spots two plainclothes policeman approaching the property. He and Tammy kill themselves by swallowing poisoned Tylenol. The two well-dressed men leave a copy of The Watchtower by the door, revealing themselves to be Jehovah's Witnesses rather than policemen.
