Centre for Sight

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Centre for Sight is a private ophthalmic care provider in the United Kingdom, and is known for its vision correction procedures, particularly LASIK laser eye surgery.[1][2][3]

History

[edit]

The clinic was established in 1996 by consultant ophthalmic surgeon Sheraz Daya.[1][4] With branches in East Grinstead (Sussex), Harley Street (London), and Oxshott (Surrey), Centre for Sight serves both national and international patients.[1][5][6]

The centre is the longest provider of LASIK laser eye surgery after it's founder, Sharaz Daya, brought the procedure to the UK in 1995. [7].[8][9][10] Originally a private consulting practice, it evolved into a full-service eye hospital.[2]

The Centre is known for being at the forefront of innovation in eye surgery and is often the first clinic to introduce new treatments to the UK.[11] The centre has gained a reputation for becoming a reference centre for the Ophthalmic industry with international visitors regularly visiting to observe new technology. In 2021, Centre for Sight's was involved in the development of a new laser eye surgery option, Transepi PRK, in collaboration with Bausch and Lomb, which now incorporated into their lasers. [12] Another example is the pioneering 'One-Day Cataract Surgery' it launched in 2019. [13]
