Chris Echevarria (born 1987) is an American fashion designer and entrepreneur. He is the Founder and Creative Director of the lifestyle brand Blackstock & Weber, as well as the apparel line ACADEMY by Chris Echevarria. Additionally, he holds the role of Creative Director for Sperry by Chris Echevarria.[1][2]

Echevarria was born and raised in New Jersey.[1]

Education

In 2007, he enrolled in the Menswear Design program at the Fashion Institute of Technology.[3][4]

Career

Echevarria worked on the opening team at the J.Crew Liquor Store, while still attending the Fashion Institute of Technology.[5][6][7]

In September 2017, Echevarria founded the footwear company Blackstock & Weber, with handmade production taking place in Portugal.[8][9][5][10][11]

In September 2023, Echevarria was named Creative Director of "Sperry by Chris Echevarria," a Made in USA collection developed for the boat shoe brand, Sperry.[12][13][14]

In November 2023, Echevarria founded clothing company, ACADEMY.[15][3]He debuted a collection titled "School Clothes," which showcased a selection of sportswear, tailored pieces, and accessories influenced by Ivy League style.[15][3]

In 2024, Echevarria opened a store in NYC, which sells products from Blackstock & Weber and ACADEMY.[16]

In January 2025, Echevarria auctioned off a classic Porsche for the  2025 Los Angeles Fire victims.[17]
