Lincoln Cortez Velasquez (born October 27, 1991), better known by his username Cong TV, is a Filipino YouTuber, vlogger, and online streamer known for his comedy vlogs and diverse content on YouTube. He is widely regarded as one of the leading YouTube personalities in the Philippines.[3][4]

Early life

[edit]

Lincoln Cortez Velasquez was born on October 27, 1991, to Marlon Velasquez Sr. and Jovel Cortez Velasquez.[5][6]

Career

[edit]

Cong TV established his YouTube channel in 2008 and gained widespread recognition for uploading comedy vlogs and various other content.[7] He is also known as a gaming and live streamer, being affiliated with Tier One Entertainment.[8][9][10] In addition to his online presence, he appeared on the television show My Super D (2016) as the character Moby.

In 2018, he founded the band Coln and released their debut single "Baliw", which received positive feedback and substantial views online.[11] Furthermore, he created 'Team Payaman,' a collective of content creators who rose to prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic.[12] The group further gained public attention after participating in Star Magic’s All-Star Basketball Game 2024, where they competed against Donny Pangilinan’s team. Although they did not win the match, Cong TV, who served as their head coach, led the team in delivering an entertaining performance that resonated with the audience and solidified their popularity.[13][14]

On September 25, 2024, Velasquez collaborated with famous American streamer IShowSpeed for a part three of his stream in the Philippines, as a part of his tour in South East Asia.[15]

Personal life

[edit]

Cong TV has three siblings: Venice, Marlon Jr., and Patricia. Both Marlon Jr. and Patricia are YouTubers and have surpassed one million subscribers.[16][17]

In December 2020, Cong TV and his girlfriend, fellow vlogger Viy Cortez, experienced the loss of their baby shortly after discovering the pregnancy.[18] A year later, Cortez announced in a vlog that she and Cong TV were expecting another baby.[19] On July 5, 2022, Cortez gave birth to their son, Zeus Emmanuel "Kidlat" Velasquez.[20]

He married Viy Cortez on June 17, 2024, at L’Annunziata Parish Church in Victoria Homes Subdivision, Tunasan, Muntinlupa, with special guest Alodia Gosiengfiao and other internet personalities in attendance.[21] A year later, they welcomed their second child, Tokyo Athena.[22]
