Career

[edit]

2014-2019 Period

[edit]

Dahlan Jamaluddin has been a member of the DPRA since 2017 replacing Makhrum Tahir through an interim replacement mechanism. This replacement had caused controversy because it was questioned by Makhrum Tahir. Makhrum questioned the reason for the replacement which he said was unclear. Makhrum's resistance was unsuccessful after the Banda Aceh District Court ruled that it had no authority to try the matter because it was the domain of the party court.[2][3]

Period 2019-2024

[edit]

Dahlan Jamaluddin returned to being a member of the DPRA after successfully winning 12,291 votes. He again represents the Aceh 2 Electoral District which includes Pidie Regency and Pidie Jaya.[4][5]

DPRA Speaker

[edit]

Dahlan Jamaluddin was once appointed by Aceh Party as Speaker of DPRA for the 2019-2024 period. The determination was based on the Decree of the Aceh Party DPA Number 092/KPTS-PDA/XI/2019 dated September 19, 2019, signed by the General Chairperson of PA, H. Muzakir Manaf, and Secretary General of PA, Kamaruddin Abubakar.[6][7] He was then officially inaugurated on November 15, 2019 along with three other deputy chairmen of the DPRA.[8] Before being inaugurated as the definitive Chairperson of the DPRA, Dahlan had served as the Temporary Chairperson of the DPRA since September 30, 2019.[9][10]
