Damovo is a global provider of information and communication technology (ICT) services headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany. The company delivers integrated solutions across Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC), Enterprise Networks, Cybersecurity, Contact Centre Infrastructure, Cloud Services, and Managed Services. As of 2025, Damovo employs over 600 internal staff and coordinates a global partner network of more than 2,500 certified experts, delivering services to more than 2,700 customers in over 150 countries.[1]

The company serves both public and private sector clients in industries such as healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, logistics, education, and government.[2] With multilingual service centres and regional offices across Europe and beyond, Damovo supports enterprise-level digital transformation initiatives, from infrastructure modernisation to cloud migration and end-user adoption.

History

[edit]

Damovo was established in 2001 following a management buyout of Ericsson’s enterprise services business in Europe. The deal, supported by the private equity firm Apax Partners, created a standalone entity that inherited Ericsson’s ICT infrastructure and business client base.[3] Initially headquartered in Glasgow, United Kingdom, with regional hubs in Düsseldorf and Dublin, the company focused on enterprise telephony and on-premises infrastructure.[4]

During the early 2000s, Damovo expanded organically across Western Europe, and later into Central and Eastern Europe. In 2006, Apax Partners divested its interest in the company. Damovo subsequently underwent restructuring to shift focus towards managed services and recurring service-based revenue.

In 2015, Damovo Europe was acquired by Oakley Capital Equity II. Matthew Riley, the founder of UK-based telecom company Daisy Group, became Executive Chairman.[5] Under this new ownership, the company pursued a strategic growth-through-acquisition model. Key acquisitions in this period included:

  • The Unified Communications business of Centre de Télécommunications et Téléinformatiques Luxembourgeois (CTTL) in 2015.[6]
  • Netfarmers GmbH in Germany in 2016, expanding Damovo’s expertise in cybersecurity and enterprise networking.[7]
  • Voice & Data Network AG (Vodanet), a Swiss ICT integrator, in 2017.[8]

In July 2018, Damovo was acquired by US-based private equity firm Global Growth (formerly Eli Global), leading to renewed investment in internationalisation, service portfolio enhancement, and cloud platform capabilities.[9]

In 2021, Damovo acquired parts of the Unified Communications & Collaboration (UCC) business from Atos in Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden and Finland, strengthening its presence in the Benelux and Nordic regions.[10] In 2024, the company assumed selected customer contracts from Avaya Deutschland GmbH, with a focus on the healthcare segment.[11]

Expansion and Global Presence

[edit]

Damovo’s international presence grew through both acquisition and strategic organic development. From its early operations in the UK, Ireland and Germany, the company built up capabilities in the DACH region, the Benelux, Central Europe, and the Nordics. Its multilingual Network Operations Centres in Brussels, Dublin, Düsseldorf and Warsaw provide 24/7 service management for over 1.9 million endpoints.[12]

As of 2025, Damovo maintains direct offices in 14 countries and delivers services in more than 150. Strategic hubs include:

  • Germany (Düsseldorf) – Global headquarters and largest operational unit
  • Germany (Berlin, Neu-Isenburg, Hamburg, Hannover, Ismaning, Stuttgart) – Additional german offices
  • Ireland (Dublin) – Key regional delivery and support site
  • Belgium (Brussels) – Network Operations Centre and base for the Benelux region
  • Poland (Warsaw) – Innovation and operations centre for Eastern Europe
  • Switzerland, Luxembourg, Netherlands – Regional offices supporting national markets, most established via acquisition

This global footprint enables Damovo to support clients with consistent service delivery across time zones, languages, and compliance frameworks.
