deadAir Records is an American independent record label founded by Jesse Taconelli, Billie Bugara and Quinn in 2021.[1]
In addition to physical media, deadAir also designs and sells merchandise for its artists.[1][2]
History
[edit]Quinn and Taconelli crossed paths while the latter worked as a music journalist and janitor. Covering up-and-coming artists and niche music scenes, he noticed mismanagement as a lead cause of young artists' careers ending sooner than they had to. They co-founded deadAir "in hopes of giving Quinn a shot at something better".[3] Bugara also worked as a music journalist and wrote about multiple future label mates during her time at Complex and Lyrical Lemonade.[3][4] As of 2022, Taconelli worked as creative director of deadAir and manager for Quinn, as well as label mates Jane Remover and Quadeca.[3][5][6]

- ^ Following Jane Remover's name change, the album was first re-issued in 2022,[9] while 2023 saw the release of Frailty on vinyl.[10]
- ^ Kenopsia was originally self-released in 2022. In early 2023, it was announced that Quannnic had been signed to deadAir, and the album was re-released digitally and later issued on vinyl for the first time through deadAir.[14]
- ^ From Me to You was originally released under AWAL in 2021. In 2024, deadAir issued the album on CD and cassette alongside I Didn't Mean to Haunt You and Scrapyard.
