Amanda Weise

Amanda Weise, Honorable Amanda Weise (born November 8, 1984) is a Canadian Artist of Jamaican and Grenadian descent. Her works include visual arts, performance arts, and literary arts. She creates abstract paintings and sculptures. She is a singer and songwriter, and a gospel reggae music artist. She is also a host of faith-based Podcast programs. Born in Toronto and raised in Negril, Jamaica, her work aims to express a transformational state of being, a realization that we have the ability to transform and evolve with faith, courage, and continued creation.

Early life and education

Amanda Patricia Weise was Born to a Jamaican father and a Grenadian mother. Weise began selling her paintings as a 7 year old child to tourists from all over the world who visited Negril. She drew much inspiration from her childhood life in Jamaica. While living in Negril she attended an Anglican Church. She moved to Ajax, Ontario at 11 years old. She was awarded a scholar of the arts at her high school graduation from Dennis O’Connor Catholic High School. She studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City.

Also known by the film and television stage name Kendra Westwood, Weise went on to star in film and TV on networks such as NBC, Netflix, The CW Network, and Lifetime Television. She became an award-winning actress and a Leo Awards Nominee for her performance in the short film Coco Blue. She co-starred in the theatre play All Our Yesterdays at Toronto Fringe Festival and Next Stage Festival.

In 2023 Weise earned a Certificate in Design Thinking and Innovative from Harvard Business School online.

Personal life

Weise was born again in 2024. Much of her contemporary work is inspired by her faith in Jesus Christ and her passion for creation and well-being.

Weise established her own art & media company.
