DJ Andrew Hypes, a multi-talented artist hailing from Waynesboro, Virginia, is renowned as a DJ, music producer, and drummer. Influenced by his father Randy’s musical prowess, Hypes immersed himself in various genres from a young age, drawing inspiration from artists like Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, George Clinton, and Prince. His innate rhythm and creativity led him to open for prominent acts such as Pharrell Williams, Skillz[1], Travis Scott, and Diplo, and produce music for Grammy winners like Lecrae and French Montana.
Since his high school days, Hypes has been DJing, igniting crowds at college parties and massive events like Shaggfest[2], where he performed in front of thousands. He’s known for fostering positive energy, great music, and memorable experiences wherever he goes.
In 2024, Hypes reached a new pinnacle in his career, being named the official tour DJ for Justin Timberlake (The Forget Tomorrow World Tour[3]). But his journey to success includes unexpected turns, such as his viral sensation in 2016 when he transformed the sound of his Philips electric shaver into a hit track and video, garnering millions of views and catching the attention of IBM. Collaborating with the tech giant, Hypes traveled the world, incorporating IBM’s data center sounds into his music, showcasing his innovative approach to music production.
