Submission declined on 24 June 2025 by Theroadislong (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Anna Bugayeva (Ukrainian: Анна Бугаєва) — contemporary Ukrainian writer[1]. Her fiction frequently considers themes of personal loss and self‑awareness.
Early life and education
[edit]Anna Bugayeva was born in Kyiv.[2] She received a master's degree diploma from Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman. She worked in the banking sector as head of documentary operations and trade finance.[3] Later she launched her own business in entertainment and real estate. She experienced the start of the war in Ukraine in Kyiv before evacuating to a small village in the Kyiv region. Later, she moved to London with her teenage son, where she continues her literary work.
Literary career
[edit]Debut novel by Anna Bugayeva, published in 2021. This is a psychological drama with elements of detective fiction that explores the complexities of family relationships, loss, secrets of the past, and the power of inner recovery.
Published in 2022, the novel was long-listed for the BBC Book of the Year-2022 award.[8] Set partly in Paris, it follows 36‑year‑old Vlada as she attempts to rebuild her life after a series of personal setbacks.
The events unfold against the backdrop of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, which forms the key context for the plot.
