Kevin-Mike Gbaguidi (born April 22nd, 1992),known professionally as BGRZ, is a Beninese record producer, composer, pianist, and songwriter based in France.
BGRZ's first major production credit was on the diamond-certified album MHD.[1] (2016) by Afro-trap rapper MHD, with the song "Amina". Further commercial success on his following productions—including Belgium rapper Damso's double-diamond single "Kin La Belle" (2017)[2], PLK and Hamza's diamond-certified single "Pilote" (2021)[3], D-Block Europe and Central Cee's platinum-certified "Overseas" (2021)[4] and his production work on Franglish's platinum-certified third album Glish[5]— made him a sought-after producer for R&B, hip-hop and Afrobeats acts.
BGRZ's production credits include songs for Aya Nakamura, Mahmood, Angélique Kidjo, Davido, NSG, Pheelz, 1Da Banton, Youssou N'Dour, Imen Es, Zinoleesky[6], and Tyga among others.
Early Life
[edit]Gbaguidi was born in Cotonou, Benin, where he grew up in the church. His upbringing and church band experience led to his interest in music, particularly the piano. Shortly after moving to France for his studies, Gbaguidi began experimenting with digital audio workstation softwares and making beats on his phone and computer under the name Mike BGRZ.
Career
[edit]Gbaguidi later incorporated the name "BGRZ", subsequently accepting a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing France. The producer then proceeded to establish a commercial music career, initially working with artists such as Mokobé, Black Kent and Singuila.
