Brandon Chukwuka (born 16 August 1996) is a Nigerian-Australian blockchain architect and entrepreneur. He founded Big BLYMP, a software studio developing decentralised-finance (DeFi) protocols on the Cardano blockchain. Chukwuka and Big BLYMP’s flagship lending protocol, Yamfore, have been profiled in Cardano-focused media.[1]

Early life and education

[edit]

Chukwuka was born in Lagos and emigrated to Australia with his family in 2007. He attended secondary school in South Australia and trained as a mental-health nurse. After discovering cryptocurrency in 2021 he began learning smart-contract development.

Career

[edit]

Big BLYMP

[edit]

Chukwuka incorporated the blockchain development firm Big BLYMP in February 2024 as a remote studio. The company focuses on Cardano-based DeFi infrastructure and publicly lists three flagship products: Yamfore, Obymare and Indytane.[2]

Major protocols

[edit]
  • Yamfore – a non-custodial lending protocol offering crypto-backed loans with no margin calls or ongoing interest. NMKR’s developer blog described it as a first for Cardano lending.[3] Yamfore launched on mainnet on 14 October 2024, following a security audit by TxPipe.[4]
  • Obymare – an ADA-over-collateralised USD stablecoin mechanism first announced in late 2024. Its design documents were published through Cardano’s Project Catalyst in March 2025.[5]
  • Indytane – a yield aggregator that routes idle stablecoin liquidity into external Cardano DeFi markets. Indytane entered closed beta in May 2025.[6]

Concepts and advocacy

[edit]

Chukwuka promotes “foundational finance”: immutable contracts, transparent flat fees and no discretionary admin keys.[1] He argues DeFi platforms should minimise centralised control to empower users.

Public speaking

[edit]

Chukwuka has spoken at Consensus 2025 (Austin) and BuilderFest Asia #2 (Da Nang). He discussed stablecoin liquidity on a Cardano community panel in April 2025.[7] Earlier, he presented a Yamfore technical deep dive at a Gimbalabs Playground workshop in January 2024.[8]

Reception

[edit]

Independent coverage has highlighted Chukwuka’s projects within the Cardano ecosystem. NMKR’s 2022 blog characterised Yamfore as addressing margin-call risk in crypto lending, while the Cardano Community Digest introduced Obymare in November 2024 as “a new stablecoin protocol for ADA users.”[9]

Personal life

[edit]

Chukwuka lives in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is a specialty-coffee enthusiast.
