Budi Handoko (Chinese: 黃正业) is an Indonesian entrepreneur, investor, and author. He is a founder of Shipper, an Indonesian logistics technology company. Some sources suggest he was involved with the "Logistic Aggregator" model in Indonesia.[1]

Early Life and Education

Budi Handoko was born in Singkawang, Indonesia. He attended SMA Negeri 1 Singkawang. He later studied in Malaysia and Australia, earning a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Information and Communication Technology from the University of Wollongong.

Career

Handoko's career has involved work in technology and logistics.

  • Entrepreneurial Ventures
    • oCash (2011–2015) – A virtual currency platform for Australian gamers, which was acquired by MOL Malaysia.[2]
  • Mensa Indonesia – He held the role of Director of Strategic Partnership from 2023 to 2025.[3]
  • ALDEI (Association of Logistic for Indonesia Digital Economy) – Handoko has served as Head of Fulfillment.[4]

Shipper

Shipper is a company that offers logistics services, which include warehousing, inventory management, and last-mile delivery, through a network of logistics partners.[5]

Handoko co-founded Shipper in 2017. Phil Opamuratawongse joined as a co-founder in late 2018.

Shipper has received venture capital investment and operates in numerous cities and utilizes logistics partners and fulfillment centers. The company has also expanded its operations to Thailand and China. [6]

IniSingkawang

In 2024, Handoko launched IniSingkawang, a project focused on tourism and cultural development in Singkawang.[7]
