Charlotte Simoneau (born 2005-05-30) is a Canadian Olympic weightlifter and former gymnast who competes in the 71 kg weight class. She has represented Canada at several international competitions and is considered one of the country's top emerging talents in the sport.
Career
[edit]Simoneau began weightlifting at a young age, probably around 12 years old.[1]. She progressed quickly through the national development system in Canada. She gained national attention through her performances at junior events and became a prominent figure in Canadian weightlifting.
In 2024, Simoneau won gold at the Pan American Junior Championships in the 71 kg category[2]. A few months later, she won the 2024 World Junior Championships as a 71 kg lifter [3][4].
In 2025, she did it again at the Pan American Junior Championships and won 3 gold medals[5]. She followed up with an impressive performance at the 2025 Junior World Championships[6], winning three gold medals — in the snatch, clean & jerk and total[7] — further solidifying her international reputation[8]

[edit]Simoneau trains at the weightlifting club La Machine Rouge in Quebec (Canada) and is known for her disciplined approach and technical proficiency. She is a bilingual speaker of French and English and balances training with academic pursuits.
