Christopher Lee Zammit is a Canadian-Maltese visual effects supervisor, digital artist, and film director. He is known for his work on several Academy Award and BAFTA-nominated films including Top Gun: Maverick, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, First Man, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon.[1] Zammit is also the writer and director of the upcoming feature film Dead Pixels, which is currently in development.
Early career
[edit]Zammit began his career in VFX asset creation and rose to positions in art direction and supervision, including senior texture and look development roles. He contributed to over 50 film and television productions and worked with major studios including Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), Digital Domain, Weta Digital and DNEG. His technical expertise centers on high end visual effects, photorealistic texturing and sculpting, and worldbuilding for tentpole visual effects productions.

[edit]Zammit's visual effects work has contributed to several major film productions that received international acclaim, with nominations and wins from the Academy Awards, BAFTA Awards, and Visual Effects Society (VES):
- Top Gun: Maverick (2022) – Asset Supervisor at Method Studios
Nominated for the Academy Award[2] and BAFTA Award[3] for Best Visual Effects. Also nominated for a VES Award[4] for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature, as well as Outstanding Model in a Photoreal or Animated Project for the F-14 Tomcat sequence.
- Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) – Senior Texture & Lookdev Artist at ILM
Nominated for the Academy Award[5] and BAFTA Award[6] for Best Visual Effects.
- First Man (2018) – Senior Texture Artist at DNEG
Winner of the Academy Award[7] for Best Visual Effects. Winner of the VES Award[8] for Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature.
- Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016) – Concept Artist at Sony Pictures Imageworks

Directing and original work
[edit]Zammit transitioned from supervising visual effects to writing and directing original films. His debut feature, Dead Pixels, is a dark satire about the collapse of a visual effects studio during a pandemic, blending horror-comedy and meta-cinema.[11]
Public appearances
[edit]In 2022, Zammit was a featured guest at Fan Expo Canada in Toronto, appearing as a visual effects supervisor listed in the official event roster.[12]
In 2019 and 2022, Zammit was a featured guest at TFCon,[13] North America's largest fan-run Transformers convention.
He was the first featured creator on adapt.one,[1] a creative technology platform for filmmakers. He has also appeared on the Allan McKay Podcast:
Personal life
[edit]Zammit holds dual citizenship in Canada and Malta. He advocates for artistic integrity, animal welfare, and creator-first storytelling platforms. He lives with his partner and their companion animals.
