CityModel is a participatory, ecologically integrated, and emotionally structured city created through collective imagination. Unlike traditional cities shaped by governance and geography, CityModel thrives on spontaneity, care, and interpersonal connection. The city's design and function arise from shared desires rather than master planning.
Overview
[edit]CityModel is part utopia, part social laboratory, and part artwork. It has no formal government, economy, or mapped infrastructure. Its society operates through an economy of gestures, where emotional resonance and cooperative actions build and maintain its fluid environment. Time, value, and location are all redefined within its limits.
History
[edit]The city's origin is rooted in a story of communal desire. A traveler wished for a glitter party. Others joined. A district emerged. Over time, these spontaneous acts accumulated into a city of neighborhoods, rituals, and structures.
Emotional Topography
[edit]CityModel is navigated by feeling:
- Curiosity leads you through unknown paths.
- Hunger takes you to the Linzer Torte Mall.
- Tenderness may bring you to the Cloud Forest.
- Collective questioning draws you to the AntiChurch.
There are no roads, no addresses, and no fixed layouts. Everything shifts.
Key Districts and Landmarks
[edit]Glitter District
[edit]
Born from celebration, it features:
- Dence Hall: vibrant dance hall with immersive music.
- Fabulous Short Film Festival: at the outdoor cinema.
- Pearl Park: luminous foliage, endless sunlight.
- Pool Tower: housing for locals powering the district.
Shopping Mall Linzer Torte
[edit]The city’s metabolic core, where unique soil grows strawberries all year. These are transformed into Linzer Torte jam and bartered in complex systems of art-for-tools-for-food-for-cake transactions.
Cloud Forest
[edit]Floating sleep pods suspended in bioluminescent trees. Built for shared dreaming and rest. The pods glow at night and store energy during the day. The material is entirely biodegradable.
AntiChurch
[edit]Not a religious institution, but a sacred space for doubt, togetherness, and open dialogue. Celebrations are held every Wednesday.
Happy Graveyard
[edit]
A cemetery where remembrance and transformation are celebrated. Some graves whisper, others glow. Children sing lullabies to ancestors.
Barefoot Spa
[edit]A place where elders soak and musicians sing. No currency changes hands. Relaxation is communal.
Fish Academy
[edit]Education center promoting ecological fishing and respectful stewardship of the Danube.
Economy of Gestures
[edit]The city operates through non-monetary exchanges:
- Portraits are traded for groceries.
- Songs buy resources.
- Tools and clothes are exchanged without price.

Infrastructures and Materials
[edit]CityModel grows its own construction materials:
- Annual harvest of rope-filament plants for structural use.
- Modular infrastructure like:
- Herbal Centre
- Reuse Center
- Algae Plant
Proposals for new spaces can be made during Wednesday gatherings.
RichPeoplePrison
[edit]
A symbolic structure where wealth hoarding is discouraged. Excessive wealth must be redistributed or the individual is detained to perform community service under strict minimalism.
Rituals and Customs
[edit]- Wishing Wells: visitors offer desires to the city.
- Lullabies: sung to memory stones in the cemetery.
- Midnight Market: silent dream and resource exchange.
- Gesture Registry: citywide archive of kind actions.
Technology and Communication
[edit]There is no Wi-Fi. Communication happens through:
- Speaking to strangers.
- Joining community rituals.
- Participating in collective building.
Ideology
[edit]CityModel resists fixed identity. Its values are:
- Softness over control
- Ecology over growth
- Reciprocity over profit
- Changeability over permanence
Legacy and Influence
[edit]Though not scalable by design, CityModel has influenced temporary autonomous zones, performative urban planning, and community-based ecological models worldwide.
