Clive Castillo (born February 28, 1989) is a Filipino-British professional basketball coach.
Early life and college career
[edit]Clive Castillo was born in London, UK. a.[2] He played college basketball for the University of Westminster in London, UK. During his playing years, he was named University of Westminster Captain of the Year.[3]
Coaching career
[edit]Clive Castillo was named the Head Coach of his alumnus the University of Westminster in 2014.
In the 2017-18 basketball season, Coach Clive led the University of Westminster Dragons to their first university title and promotion to British Universities and Colleges Sport Division 2 in over seven years.[4]
In 2020, Clive founded Brent Bulls Basketball Club, a community basketball club based in North-West London. [5]
On February 21 2024, Westminster came up against the University of East London. The Westminster team winning 81-55. The basketball match marked Coach Clive’s 100th British Universities and Colleges Sport game. [6]
On September 2024, Coach Clive was hired as a Men's Assistant Coach for the London Lions who compete professionally in the Super League Basketball. [7]
On April 2 2025, Coach Clive led the Westminster Dragons to a victory Bournemouth in the BUCS Premier South Playoff to secure league promotion. The Men's Basketball team became the first sports team in the University of Westminster history to gain promotion to the British Universities and Colleges Sport Premier Division.[8]
On May 20, 2025, after a 3-4 start to the Davao Occidental 2025 season announced that they would be transitioning into a new era. Under new management, announcing Coach Clive as the new Interim Head Coach - to lead the team in the short term.
