David Leo Green (October 14, 1951—July 25, 2014) was a deputy sheriff, retailer and state legislator in Mississippi from 1980-2005.
Biography
[edit]He was born October 14, 1951 in Rosetta, Mississippi to Louise T. Green Sr. and Lettie M. Davis-Green.[1] He attended Southwest Mississippi Junior College.[2] Louis T. Green Sr. and Lettie M. Davis-Green were his parents. He was married to Julia M. Green.[1]
Green was deputy sheriff of Amite County when he was appointed as a member of governor Cliff Finch's multicultural advisory council in 1978.[3]
He was elected to the Mississippi House of Representatives and served from 1980 until 2005.[4]
Green died July 25, 2014 at his home in Gloster, Mississippi.[1] He was preceded in death by a daughter Jamilia Kenyatta Green and David Leo Green Jr. and survived by a daughter Jelita A Green, brothers, his mother and grandchildren.[1] He was buried in the Purnell Family Cemetery in Garden City Franklin County, Mississippi.[1]
