DeepGreenX Group Inc. is a Canada-incorporated technology and infrastructure holding company with operations in green energy, artificial intelligence, and digital finance. Founded in 2020, DeepGreenX focuses on converting sustainability data and real-world asset (RWA) data into certified digital financial instruments using AI, blockchain, and decentralized infrastructure. Its corporate headquarters are located in Toronto, with operational subsidiaries in South Korea and China.
Overview
[edit]DeepGreenX operates through a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) model, transforming ESG data into tradable digital assets including carbon credits, renewable energy certificates (RECs), and RWA tokens. These digital financial products are designed to be transacted on global markets, including digital asset exchanges and sustainability marketplaces.[1] The company’s business model integrates data digitalization, AI analytics, and asset tokenization into a decentralized infrastructure network (DePIN), targeting industries such as carbon capture, green logistics, energy storage, and data centers.
In May 2025, DeepGreenX filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to list American Depository Shares (ADSs) on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "DXG". The offering aims to increase visibility and market access for its tokenized sustainability instruments.[2] The filing highlighted the company's transition from its legacy green logistics business in China to an innovative digital asset platform integrating sustainability data into financial markets.
Major Partnerships and Initiatives
[edit]In November 2024, DeepGreenX announced a US$140 billion commitment in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and digital infrastructure projects with the Asia Development & Investment Bank (ADIB), which also acquired a 36% equity stake in the company.[3]
In January 2025, DeepGreenX partnered with Sente Ventures to launch a $25 billion investment program aimed at clean energy, smart grids, and digital finance solutions via their joint venture, DXG-Hues.[4] In collaboration with Forest First International, the company also initiated a natural asset digitalization project in Indonesia's Maluku region, covering 70 million hectares over a 60-year lease.[5]
Leadership
[edit]The company is led by CEO Barclay Knapp, an American entrepreneur previously known as the co-founder and CEO of NTL Incorporated (now Virgin Media).[6] Lan Yang, a prominent media entrepreneur and philanthropist, is reported to hold a controlling stake in DeepGreenX, indicating her strategic involvement in the company's leadership and long-term direction.[7] In April 2025, former UK Minister Paul Scully joined the company’s advisory board, a role disclosed in the company's May 2025 SEC registration filing and approved by the UK government's Advisory Committee on Business Appointments (ACOBA).[8][9]
