Early Life and Education:
Deepa Mishra hails from the culturally rich region of Madhubani, Bihar. From a young age, she displayed a passion for storytelling and poetry, publishing her first poem in the magazine Aakhyayini in 1994. She later pursued a professional career in education, receiving training as an English teacher.
Career in Education
Mishra spent over fifteen years teaching English in schools across Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. Her dedication to language education also extended beyond the classroom. She has been actively involved in language preservation projects in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, working with marginalized and endangered linguistic communities.
Literary Contributions
A prolific writer, Deepa Mishra has authored over fifteen books across genres in Hindi and Maithili. Her poetry and prose often explore themes of love, nature, and emotional introspection.
