Devon Gabriella Schreiner (born 16 May 2001) is an American singer-songwriter from Los Gatos. She has released one EP called From The Next Room, and was the supporting act for American singer-songwriter Sadie Jean. Her genre has been described as indie pop, "sad girl" music. She is inspired by artists like Lizzy McAlpine and Lennon Stella. She was part of UCLA's Spring Sing competition in May 2025.[1]
Career
[edit]Devon Gabriella Schreiner[2] was born on 16 May 2001[3] and is from Los Gatos in Santa Clara County, California[4]. She started singing when she was a toddler, and started posting covers of songs on Instagram and TikTok during middle school.[5] During the COVID-19 pandemic, Gabriella started writing her own songs[5]. She released her debut single "The Way That I See You", which was self-written, in October 2020[6]. She then followed it with "Love Me, Just For The Season", a holiday-themed song about the holiday season possibly bringing two people together, in December.[7].
Almost a year after "The Way That I See You", Gabriella released her third single, "Better This Way"[8]. Two months later, she would drop her fourth single, "Losing Game", a song that uses boxing metaphors to portray fights with her partner.[9]
In early to mid 2022, Gabriella released another two singles titled "Marriage Story"[10] and "A Little Hope Never Hurt"[11]. In November 2022, she released her seventh single, "How Could You?"[12], which would end up on her EP "From The Next Room"[13].
In February 2023, Gabriella's eighth single, "Get Clean", was released[14]. It talks about a relationship where both partners have no more feelings for each other, and are simply together because of habit. Two months later, her ninth single, "Remind Me", was released[15]. From May to November 2023, Gabriella dropped three new singles: "Older"[16], "Afraid Of Heights"[17], and "Less Like Me"[18]. All three would be on "From The Next Room"[13].
In January 2024, Gabriella would release her thirteenth single, "Gone For Good"[19]. It would become the third track on "From The Next Room"[13]. On 9 February, Gabriella announced on Instagram that she would be releasing her first EP "From The Next Room" on 23 February[20]. The extended play contained the 4 previous singles, "How Could You?", and two new songs called "Talking In Your Sleep"[21] and "Easy"[22]. In May 2024, she released "From The Next Room (Acoustic)", which contained an acoustic version "Gone For Good" and a piano version of "Talking In Your Sleep"[23]. In August 2024, Gabriella announced that she would be the supporting act for Sadie Jean on her English and European leg of her "Simple Like 17 Tour", starting on 3 September and concluding 18 September[24].
In March 2025, Gabriella released "The Garden"[25], her sixteenth single, which uses the metaphor of a garden to describe how growth and change feels. A month later, she dropped another single called "Gasoline"[26] with a music video for it directed by Anne-Sophie Bine. It was also announced that Gabriella would be the supporting act for three dates of Sombr's "The Late Nights & Young Romance Tour"[27]; one date in Los Angeles, and one date in Pomona. On May 18, Gabriella announced a private fan hangout as a celebration of "The Garden" and "Gasoline" in Los Angeles[28]. Fans were able to enter a giveaway to win an entry with a plus one. On May 30, she released her eighteenth single, "Bad Blood"[29], which talks about the aftermath of a relationship, and trying to stay friends with your partner even with the pain of the breakup.
