Advertising

[edit]

Despite her minor role, many of the advertisements for Diamond focused on the presence of Mrs. Costello thanks to her marital link to vaudeville star Maurice Costello - a connection that Moving Picture World encouraged it's exhibitors to capitalise on.[2]

Advertisements in British cinema magazine The Bioscope said of the film:

"Bright as they make 'em. Two bright ones, one a little brighter than the other. Everything about this comedy is bright."[3]

Reception

[edit]

Moving Picture World called Diamond "funny in the extreme", stating: "It will certainly fulfil its mission as a roaring comedy."[4]
